  • Rogero CFW v3.5 Proof Of Concept

    With the release of the 3.60 keys and also his DEX custom firmware with peek/poke, Rogero has announced a proof of concept that will interest everyone using custom firmware 3.55. I have been writing news for a reasonable time now and from what I have read every "scener" wants a complete package as far as custom firmware is concerned. A 'plug and play' solution to your CFW needs. What I mean is not everyone wants to fiddle with EBOOT patching or converting their retail machines to debug units in order to get their favorite games running.

    With that said Rogero's latest revision to his custom firmware allows one to play games that are signed using 3.56 keys. In this revision the 3.60 keys have also been added with hope that all 3.60 signed games could one day run natively on CFW3.55.


    About Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.5:
    Rogero once again hits us with a double wammy. Heres an update to his popular Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.5. This is a POC to prove to others it can be done. He as added 3.56 and 3.60 keys. It currently can only load 3.56 games but 3.60 might be in the works. Time will tell :P

    Important Note:

    This CFW is released only as a Proof of Concept for adding newer keys to 3.55 CFW. The 3.60 keys are already added to this CFW but some additional patching is needed on some loaders to bring the 3.60 functionality to the CFW.

    Special Thanks to eussNL for his assisstance and help with the specific patches and tasks used to build and test the CFW. Special Thanks to glu0n for his awesome reversing/patching skills on the loaders.
    Changelog:
    1. Added the 3.56 and 3.60 appldr/NPDRM key sets.
    2. Patched many version checks and extended keys table index to activate the usage of newly added keys.
    3. Games with Eboots version 3.56 are now working without the need for any patch, the CFW can decrypt the Eboot on the fly.
    4. Games with Eboots version 3.60 are still giving an error on load due to some additional 3.60 checks that are being worked on. ("EAUTHFAIL | 0x80010017 | Program authentication fail (Error starting BluRay game)" which may need to be addressed outside appldr)

      this looks good and think i will add this to my other cfw on my hdd to easily swap between them. Rogero seems to be doing alot lately and think there is more great things to come from him keep up the good work.

      IMHO the best would b sort of "frankenstein" DEX CFW both with BD-EMU and new keys implemented whenever they r released like from E3 so we´ve all-in-1 solution

      anyway can some1 tell if i should use ReactPSN 4 reactivating my purchased PSN games cause after conversion 2 DEX only those "patched" ones worx

      After almost 2 years of dead silence, they come up with ............... another 3.55. LOL.

      Oh, we can play 3.56 games, cool ...... that's worth 10 games or so ? 1 real game peoples are susceptible of having interest in, 3 crappy Disneyland games and 6 PSN flash games.

      Do you not know what Proof of Concept is? This is just to show that new keys can be added, it's not finished yet.

      Its a good work none the less! and a bit closer to the "complete package" indeed.
      my problem with the "decrypt" method is the need to store the orginal files, i think we all remeber the "run" for original eboots when 3.55 cfw apeared. Many of the decrypted/patched for 3.41 didnt work on 3.55, and so it is quite possible that the same happens if we see a later cfw, 3.60 or something else.

      its a shame waninkoko droped the ps3, he was the one to push cfw to the "complete package" state at the time, i remember reading about a new version of the kmeaw every other day, compt issues and so on, and never had any of those on my v2. Or that i recall and actual crash!
      (no need to bring up the flamming coments the the v1 version, we all remember)

      I am thinking about it, and i think the patched files should still be fine if this is still 3.55 fw. I don't see why not. Anyone care to weigh in?

      Hats off everybody. I've been sitting in the dark waiting for this inevitable day ever since 3.55 came out. This is amazing.

      Does anyone know of a list of games including their FW versions? I'd like to be able to compare this to dex, and true blue as I have a dongle. Too lazy to actually go through with dex, but if full 3.6 has just one more game, I will say goodbye to the blue.

      pm'ed you a link with a list of games that have been fixed. i've heard of some problems with some tb fixes that don't seem to get corrected ever. the list i sent you has confirmations and it is a nice sized list that usually includes both US and Europe fixes.
      Tb hasn't seemed to have done much in a while...they're probably working on something to overthrow 3.6 fixes for everyone (which might be never).

      Anyways, enjoy the link in my pm. Off the top of my head, i notice TB doesn't have cartoon network punch time explosion xl fixed.
