Rogero CEX 4.30 / 4.21 CFW v2

Rogero a PlayStation 3 Custom Firmware Developers has released V2 of his 4.30 CFW along with a 4.21 CFW version. The 4.30 CFW has been built from scratch using official 4.30 firmware files (CEX files). All the issues like XMB icon sorting and Demo Mode from v1.04 are now all in the past with v2.00. LV1/LV2 patches were added for many additional features such as Direct Disc Access you can view all additional features below in the changelog. For additional information please checkout the Official Rogero CFW V2 thread @ tortuga-cove. NOTE: You must have multiMAN v04.12.00 Prior to installing this CFW.-- LINK

You must have multiMAN version 04.12.00 installed on the PS3 before updating to CFW4.30 v2.00 or you won't be able to install Package files until you downgrade again to version 3.55 and Install multiMAN 04.12.00

4.30 v2.00

Rebuilt from scratch using OFW4.30 files only (no DEX/SEX files) with official XMB and full features working as in OFW4.30
All known problems like XMB icons sorting and Demo Mode issues from v 1.04 are now all gone with the use of the official XMB.
Removed the classical "Install Package Files" Icon from XMB to have a 100% original XMB (no DEX/SEX files used).
Installing Package Files can be done from multiMAN 04.12.00 (XMMB Home column or MMOS File Manager).
Patched LV1 to disable LV2 Protection.
Patched LV1 to add peek/poke support to replace hvc 182/183 (multiMAN Direct Disc Access is now working fine with CFW4.21/4.30 v2.00)
Patched LV1 to disable SYSTEM MANAGER INTEGRITY CHECK (to prevent Bricking on non-dehashed downgraded consoles)
Patched LV1 Core OS Hash Check (to prevent Bricking on non-dehashed downgraded consoles)
Patched LV2 to add peek/poke support. (for both LV1 and LV2)
Patched VSH to enable ReActPSN compatibility (Allow Unsigned act.dat and *.rif files, Disable Unlinking/Deleting of act.dat)
Spoofed the system version to latest OFW version 4.31.
PSN/SEN access is available as long as the current "passphrase" still the same.
Loading games from App_home Icon is now fixed.
It can run games signed with Keys up to version 4.30 without any Eboot/Sprx patching needed
Games can be loaded from Disc Icon (with Original game in BD) and from app_home (Disc-less, but not all games).
Current 3.55 homebrew applications can't be loaded on this CFW, applications must be re-signed properly for FW4.21/4.30

4.21 v2.00

Same Features as CEX_4.30 v2.00 plus the following add-ons:
1.) It does have the default "Install Package Files" node on XMB. (no need to have multiMAN installed before using it)
2.) It does have LV1 Checks Disabled and can be used directly instead of Rogero3.55 v3.7 while downgrading with Hardware Flashers.
3.) It does have the Proper Cinavia Disabled Files for the users who needs it.

Ok I just updated to Rogero 4.30 V2 from Rogero 4.30 V1.4 and now some of my games are not loading. When I was on V1.4 Hitman Absolution loaded up fine. Now with this update I go into multiman load the game up and it takes me back to the xmb. This was how the process went. From V1.4 downgraded to Rogero 3.55 to OFW 3.55 to Rogero V2 all through recovery. I did not QA since I did the button combination and showed that it was already QA'd. Is anyone else having problems loading games with this update and the new multiman? Any help would be appreciated.

I think now u can update the games. Do it and I hope it'll work.

Great news. It works with 2 HDD. I have tested with my 3TB + 1 TB HDD + PS EYE + PS3 Sing star mic receiver all connected in a USB hub. You can see my usb HDD in the screen shots. I don't need any changes for next 2 years...

Ya! you can always do that, use Easeus Partition Manager. And never forget to format it in fat32 but with 64k clusters. Otherwise PS3 will not show your HDD.

YAY!! *high five*!! And thanks for the info about the partitions. I have 2 2tb drives right now, but who knows what I might need in the future. Oh man I know what I'm going to do with the rest of this holiday. Haha

I had a similar problem going from 3.55 CFW -> 4.30 Rogero v1.3/1.4.

Brutal Legend worked for me on ext for 3.55 CFW
Now on 4.30 Rogero v1.4, and it only works on internal. On external it black screens, make a sound like a load error but never shows an error. Then just stays black.

Some games just seem to have load problems. Brutal legend was the only one I had with the problem out of 50 or so games, sounds like you found another.

So which is it, lol? Do they work or not, or is it dependent on the use of a hub. rexapi can you try using 2x HD without the hub?

I had a similar problem with CoD WaW... try the various settings like BD mirror set through game settings, by button pressing, and also both but with standard payload set instead of hermes....

Mine worked fine on internal (although i THINK i copied it back to USB) b/c i tested it again yesterday and it worked....

and to everyone wanting to update... PLEASE downgrade it with either 999 Downgrader or Rogero's downgrader, then go CFW 3.55 afterwards, and then update to 4.30 v.X

NEVER do a direct update, even through Recovery, you will get problems, and worse, headaches and lost data.

BTW, my PS3 YLOD'd on me the night this came out (hadn't installed yet) but since i fixed my YLOD the system is running good, and this CFW seems to be a LOT more stable (although i do not like the no pkg file install on XMB, DeanK posted a new program to help this out)

NOT WORKING can`t upgrade or downgrade keep getting error No Applicable update data was found.....toggle QA doesn't work either keep getting error 80010017...looks like I`m stuck on rogero 4.30 v1.04

I'm thinking of upgade the cfw, is there any reason i should choose 4.30 instead 4.21, i don't want to loose the 'install package' option (I have multiman installed, but i dont want to risk, failing to start, and it's easier for me to use XMB).
Is 4.30 better then 4.21 that much (or at all), to choose it over ?

omg. either think or read!!! Hate those annoying comments, where users cant read faq, etc.
1) there is no qa toggle on FW 3.55+ - OMFG
2) U need to use Rogero's 4.25to3.55 []Download 4.25to3.55.rar from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way
3) install/check qa-toggle
4)then install Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.7 through recovery mode
5) then install 3.55 OFW or KMEAW through recovery mode [for dehashing]; check qa-toggle again with button combo
6) finally install FW u like through recovery mode

For the future go FUC*IN read!!!!
Everything is written properly, nicely and understandable. This people try their BEST to provide all neccessary infos!!
I hope the next time u dont read everything before installing anything, you brick your ps3!

Just 4.30 v2.0 has OFW-XMB
Rogero CFW 4.30 v1.04: Uses Demo-files, U got install packages in XMB...

My "install Package" option has lost. no matter what i do im unable to get it back. i even downgraded to 3.55 installed MM 4.12 but still i cant see it.
can some 1 guide please

Yea it's pretty weird. When I was on Rogero 4.30 v1.2 I had Resident Evil 6 on external and the thing wouldn't load for bout an hour. It just stood on loading data screen on multiman. I had made a post on here somwhere bout the issue. What I did was FTP it to internal and the game would load in seconds. It could be that Rogero firmware has some loading bugs with certain games or it could be my external hdd which is USB 3.0, but that shouldn't really matter right?

Yea I tried all that. But funny thing is when I had it on external it worked fine before updating to Rogero v2, after updating I would go load the game and it would just black out then kick me to xmb. Tried Standard BD, Hermes, Ext Data, EVERYTHING! So I said to myself the only thing left is to copy it over to internal and it worked! Good thing I upgraded my internal to a 500 gb 7200rpm hdd. Loads games up like nothing. Just don't wanna fill it up with all my games. Thats why I have my external which is 1TB. Even that is getting filled up with games. I just hope from now on everygame I get I don't have to copy it over to internal than using my external.

Im on stock 3.55 ofw can I just upgrade to this or do I have to have 3.55 cfw to run qa_toggle and then upgrade?
