Rogero a PlayStation 3 Custom Firmware Developers has released V2 of his 4.30 CFW along with a 4.21 CFW version. The 4.30 CFW has been built from scratch using official 4.30 firmware files (CEX files). All the issues like XMB icon sorting and Demo Mode from v1.04 are now all in the past with v2.00. LV1/LV2 patches were added for many additional features such as Direct Disc Access you can view all additional features below in the changelog. For additional information please checkout the Official Rogero CFW V2 thread @ tortuga-cove. NOTE: You must have multiMAN v04.12.00 Prior to installing this CFW.-- LINK

You must have multiMAN version 04.12.00 installed on the PS3 before updating to CFW4.30 v2.00 or you won't be able to install Package files until you downgrade again to version 3.55 and Install multiMAN 04.12.00

4.30 v2.00

Rebuilt from scratch using OFW4.30 files only (no DEX/SEX files) with official XMB and full features working as in OFW4.30
All known problems like XMB icons sorting and Demo Mode issues from v 1.04 are now all gone with the use of the official XMB.
Removed the classical "Install Package Files" Icon from XMB to have a 100% original XMB (no DEX/SEX files used).
Installing Package Files can be done from multiMAN 04.12.00 (XMMB Home column or MMOS File Manager).
Patched LV1 to disable LV2 Protection.
Patched LV1 to add peek/poke support to replace hvc 182/183 (multiMAN Direct Disc Access is now working fine with CFW4.21/4.30 v2.00)
Patched LV1 to disable SYSTEM MANAGER INTEGRITY CHECK (to prevent Bricking on non-dehashed downgraded consoles)
Patched LV1 Core OS Hash Check (to prevent Bricking on non-dehashed downgraded consoles)
Patched LV2 to add peek/poke support. (for both LV1 and LV2)
Patched VSH to enable ReActPSN compatibility (Allow Unsigned act.dat and *.rif files, Disable Unlinking/Deleting of act.dat)
Spoofed the system version to latest OFW version 4.31.
PSN/SEN access is available as long as the current "passphrase" still the same.
Loading games from App_home Icon is now fixed.
It can run games signed with Keys up to version 4.30 without any Eboot/Sprx patching needed
Games can be loaded from Disc Icon (with Original game in BD) and from app_home (Disc-less, but not all games).
Current 3.55 homebrew applications can't be loaded on this CFW, applications must be re-signed properly for FW4.21/4.30

4.21 v2.00

Same Features as CEX_4.30 v2.00 plus the following add-ons:
1.) It does have the default "Install Package Files" node on XMB. (no need to have multiMAN installed before using it)
2.) It does have LV1 Checks Disabled and can be used directly instead of Rogero3.55 v3.7 while downgrading with Hardware Flashers.
3.) It does have the Proper Cinavia Disabled Files for the users who needs it.

Anybody have any experience on how this cfw does playing backups diskless? Does the majority work or is it hit and miss? My drive is still effed up so I'd like to know.

Always verify MD5 if MATCH before anything!

I prefer SHA1 myself (IMHO).

I was all excited to get this cfw and try it out and then saw that installing packages has to be done from multiman, which happens to be a package itself. It's sure to create a chicken or eggs scenario. I support Rogero cfw and multiman, but this decision will create some problems. I've had several times where I've needed to reinstall multiman and if that were to happen after going to this cfw then it would force a lot of risky and time-consuming work... downgrading, then upgrading again. I can't believe I have to, but I have to pass on this one.

I checked that, and works perfectly for me. This one has passed all my tests. Haven't tried with 2 hdd yet. Will do that soon. Great work from Rogero.

So reActPSN works with this CFW? Has any one tried using reActPSN?

cannot use install pkg files using multiman v 4.12.00 even when am on rogero CFW 4.30 v2..when i press x on that, my ps3 gets stuck...any1 else encounter this problem??

gonna change back to rogero 4.30 v1.04...install pkg file option not being on xmb is nt good..other than that, all are nice..

I have Ps3 Slim with Rogero 1.04 i can upgrade to rogero 2.0 ?? via recovary menu?? or i need downgrade do 3.55??? THANKXX

Almost everyone that tried to do it this way encountered the "corrupted data" problem. Do it the slow and secure way, what's to lose besides time?

still can`t update to 4.30v2 I`m on 4.30v1.4 can`t downgrade or upgrade keep getting NO APPLICABLE UPDATE DATA WAS FOUND...qa toggle doesn't work either

I know what u mean. use a usb stick. Ur having to meany pkg files in hdd. I had that problem.

Use 999 down grader from XMB--> use OFW 3.55 from XMB---> update to 4.30v2 from XMB (No need to go on restore mode)

It should work.

Can you let us know what the verdict is on the 2 external hdd's after you test it? That could be enough to persuade me to use this, until something as good with xmb pkg installs comes out.

Hi all. I have the same question as other users. On this cfw is there another way of installing packages besides using Multiman? This is extremely important since if Multiman gets corrupted then you will not have another way of re-installing it besides doing the whole downgrade-upgrade process, only to hope it doesn't get corrupted again, and every cfw installation is risky. Could you please give us some insights on this? Thanks.

Could someone confirm if reactpsn is working on CFW 4.30 v2.0 of rogero?

I tested it and could create a exdata folder on usb when holding L1 for 6 seconds after starting reactpsn for cfw 4.21.

But after i try to make a AA account it doesnt work etc

I would do that. Actually I'm transferring all my backups from 2 HDD(1TB+1TB) to a 3 TB HDD. It will finish copying in 3 hours. That's way I didn't had chance to reply or test it. I'm still waiting to try that.

Guys, i`m on Rogero 4.21 v1.09d. And i want update to 4.21 v2. I must use dwongrader then rogero 3.7 then v2 ? Or just downgrader and then v2 because V2 have LV1 no check just like rogero 3.7 ??

U could do so...,
