Rebug 3.41E Beta v1.0.1 Released - Now as Firmware Update File

Evilsperm, of project Rebug, has just informed me that his team, has released Rebug 3.41E Beta v1.0.1. The latest version, comes to us in the form of an officially signed, firmware update PUP. This means users can install the firmware update on legitimate unjailbroken consoles, similarly to KaKaRoTo's custom firmware PUP. For those of you unfamiliar with the project, Rebug is a project to convert retail units into full fledged debug units. Please note this enables debug options, not piracy. This this does not enable backups or backup managers.

The team had issues, with releasing the wrong PUP earlier today, below are the good working firmware update PUP's

Rebug 3.41 1.0.1 Beta signed PUP – Working
INSTALL: Through XMB (no jailbreak needed to install)
UNINSTALL: Through XMB (Use Retail 3.41 update)
KNOWN BUG: When exiting from a BD/DVD or GAME when NOT in JB mode the PS3 will restart..

This only occurs when the PS3 is NOT jailbroken and NO data is lost when it happens.. I am trying to fix the issue now but thought that since it is a beta people that haven’t tried it yet can at least easily preview Rebug and if the exit bug mentioned above is too annoying simply update back to retail without losing any saves, game data, etc..

NOTE: It is recommended that users of the previous Rebug pack install DO NOT update with this as it will install the the annoying exit bug mentioned above.. If you have installed it and would like to return back to the pack install you will have to run the Retail 3.41 update first.. No data will be lost doing this..

Did they even enable unsigned code for this? The reason KaKaRoToKS didn't enable unsigned code is because he didn't want to start piracy, but the problem is it can't enable piracy because without the jailbreak you wouldn't be able to use a backup manager even if it's signed because you don't have the proper syscals (Correct me if i'm wrong

What options are available in a degug console anyway? Is it really only useful if you're developing a software for the PS3?

Another windows you no avail nothing has changed has no function in more than just a race between them with unnecessary software. sorry for the decision will be Italian

what it does is run the ps3 in debug mode ... wich means running of unsigned code on the ps3 is activated. and you cant run backup manager because the required patches arent in place so. i think this means we can run ftp servers and homebrew games

Meh... I'm beginning to wonder if we'll see anything decent (emulators, backup managers, cheats, etc) until this summer at the earliest

One question: Is it possible to downgrade with that from 3.50 and then jailbreak this 3.41?
I'm asking because i have an E3 Cardreader, but also i have a PS3 slim with CECH 2504a which doesn't allow the usual way of downgrading with the E3 thingy.

I hope somebody can enlighten me.

Actually that's just for PS3 games. I wouldn't mind having the option to change regions to Japan(or possibly apply a patch for true region free as I have some PS2 imports I'd love to play again, but no means to play them (Used to have a modded PS2)

Also a question. I'd like clarification before I install this. I understand you can't run backup managers with this due to lack of proper syscalls, but does the rebug enable unsigned code so I can for instance, run my emulators without the need to jailbreak? I am still using my HTC Diamond to jailbreak while I wait for my GT Break from *********** to arrive, and this means I spend about 10 or so minutes every time trying to jailbreak which gets pretty annoying.

hey guys they said ps3 has been tottaly hacked ok so where is the hack .kakarotos cfw doesnt run backup games now rebug cfw doesnt run backup games thats that you called it hack
its not i this ps jailbreak still the king of all

They did not enable unsigned code for this. The point of the CFW was simply to enable multiple debug tools (included in the FW), not to aid homebrew.
Also, you are correct in what you say about Backup Managers. It wouldn't matter for the moment as the correct Syscalls are not present. Though this will most likely be subject to change in the near future.
I was simply stating this as a small step towards future CFW.

I have a question... If i get this will I be able to jailbreak it with my ti-84 as I usually do on my 3.41 or will it not work because I really dont want to loose my emulators and backups of my games that I bought please someone respond.

Does not seem to work on European PS3.

Cant see anything on USBstick, but official .PuP works ..... Tru XMB

I tried installing through that special 6 option menu(can't think of the name off the top of my head. You hold power till the console beeps and turns off then hold it again and wait to hear to beeps) and at about 90 or so percent of preparing to install the update it errored out. "there was a serious error. Please contact blah blah blah" I forgot to gram the error code and am not really willing to restart the process.
