Raw Games Installer Released - PS3 Game Backup To PKG Application

An app that aids in patching and building PS3 backup packages, was released today, by a dev who calls himself dobosz. The author does not take credit for the methods or keys used inside the app, which he calls Raw Games Installer. It is based on the work of GeoHot, fail0verflow, and DeLiGhT.

To Do List:

- Limit the logs
- Improved external HDD support (FAT32 only). Tested on InFamous.
- FTP Client

Description:

Raw Games Installer is a simple application which was made to help you with patching and building PS3 backup packages.
I don’t claim metods or keys usesed in this application.
This is a simple wrapper between you and hackers software.
Application use code developed by GeoHot, Team Fail0verFlow, and DeLiGhT.
Orginal programs can be found in “dependence” folder.

Change Log:

1.1.0.0:
- added delete temp_dir folder
- minor bug fixed
- added dev_usb patch. Some games won't work with it. Still need improvment, if path reference conteins NULL it wont work. Tested on Infamous.

1.0.1.2:
- GUI improved.
- Some error handeling.

Thank you so much! I've been having ZERO luck in creating my own eboots in BD2HDD, well I mean they WORK, they just all leave me with a black screen. Unless EVERY game I own just isn't compatible. On to the testing!

Well the program doesn't work for me, as much as I love windows 7, it seems to be more of a curse than a blessing when it comes to things like this. Anyone let me know if they can actually create a package without the program crashing.

Woo! Got it, just in case the program is crashing for anyone else, here's the fix, Go to My Computer, right click, Properties->Advance System Setings->environment variables
and add "HOME" "< program dir/dependence >" under system variables (on win7)

Does it change the way to build the EBOOT, or it's the same way we all have been using here http://psgroove.com/content.php?635-....55-Geohot-CFW ?

If you look at the screenshot it seems as if the program was originally tested on W7

Im still rather new to this all. It seems I need access to the entire games folder? I don't have it downloaded on the PC, I would have to guess there is a way to access it through a network or something, since I have my games installed on the internal ps3 drive. If anyone can clear it up, id appreciate that.

You can do what everyone else does which is install an FTP client (like blackboxftp, it's a pkg) which enables you to remotely access your ps3 from your pc, OR you could just do what I do and use Comgenie's Awesome File Manager, and transfer via external memory of some sort.

Thanks . I have Comgenies but I simply don't have a moveable source greater then 4gigs lol. I will have to see about setting up a FTP. Never done it before but Im sure ill figure it out.

Will this work on OFW 3.41 or is it just for 3.55? I see one check box that says 3.55 only but that's it. I will experiment but just wondered if anyone new for sure.

hi my brothers got a ps3 phat thats on 3.55 and hes reluctant to let me install geohots 3.55 custom firmware because he plays call of duty black ops online if i install geohots custom 3.55 and then use this to install some of my games will he still be able to play cod online from his original disc without been banned thanks.

Bannings right now are nothing but a rumor. AFAIK no one has been banned for using CFW.

i got error 1 and it said it could find the .elf file? and i copied the game file straight from my ps3 through FTP so i dont know what i did wrong?

Some games get patched, others get an error like this

Paching EBOOT.ELF Failed
Could not find file 'L:\ps3\Ar tonelico III～世界終焉の引鉄は少女の詩が弾く～\BLJS10075\temp_dir\USRDIR\EBO OT.ELF'.

Ideas?

I'm not sure about the PSN store, I'm assuming its still working since I haven't seen any complaints.

I currently can't test any of the CFW / homebrew / scene releases since I'm not at home. But the various comments / replies to all the past news posts there hasn't been an issue.

Try removing any foreign characters from the path.
