Hard to pick a favorite ThatOtherDev - God of homebrew games on the ps3 facanferff - use his plugin all the time. Love watching international news on my ps3. RazorX - Have his firmware on my ps3 right now. His PS3Ultimate Website is also great.

Where's DeanK on the list. I want to vote for him for his latest multiman release. Being able to back up my bluray movies to iso is great! Keep up the good work DeanK!!

Dean releases his updates on PS3Hax, not PSX-Scene

He updated his spoof when new FW came out, that's not a new project or great development on his CFW.

Prove me wrong, I just don't see how it deserves two entries and double the possible votes.

Only the 1 post with the most LIKES wins.

I see, I only just noticed the updated rules. Didn't agree with tallying, apart from the fact it made sure adrianc didn't win last time.

Even without the tallying and adrianc's plea to vote for his 3.56+ key money, it was already a close race between the winner and him. The fact is, it was all done by the rules, fair and square. And now we have rules that are more fair.

Let us just say that adrianc had not made the plea and we also changed the rules to how they are for this month in the middle of last month... it still would have been between bitsbubba's NFW and adrianc's release. Thanks for showing everyone the fair way to compete with your fellow people bitsbubba!

Not hating on you Tthousand , but if you have made the rules more fair, then that implies they were somehow less fair last time. Maybe a different choice of words in your previous post would be a good idea before this thread gets a little flamey. I also have a suggestion for the contest. Instead of voting on individual pieces of homebrew how about getting the developers that want to be included in the contest to submit a portfolio of the work they have done. That way everyone can actually vote on the developer themselves and not a single piece of homebrew they have written. I think that's a better way to show appreciation to the devs that repeatedly update their releases like Bitsbubba , facanferff or thatotherdev.

I like that idea, but I feel that the first conest was more quantity vs quality, when it should have been the other way around. I thought we had that worked out before we announced the contest, but realized later the contest seemed "unjust". I do feel that we have made the rules more fair this month, so I am not sure what I should reword (not saying their is nothing to reword, just I do not fully understand the need to reword anything). I also really like the idea of portfolio, but we are basically keeping a monthly portfolio of out entries in the contest, which seems like a good start. I am all for hearing other ways, too!

Why isn't the solar screensaver in there?I guess it wasn't originally submitted to this site like the MultiMAN updates.Oh well, that's where my vote would have gone.

I logged in JUST to throw a vote in the direction of something OTHER than someone simply using freely available tools to generate a CFW spoof. You guys might want to adjust things again, I tire of this 'contest'. If an entry is going to be made... it ought to be something that is YOUR creation. Not only that, but the same problems as before are extant again--- Multiple versions/iterations of the same thing in entry's.

multiple versions doesn't matter whoever gets the most votes for one entry

Exactly. Let's say someone releases their "homebrew" in v1, v2, v3, etc etc etc. Only the most voted for one would win. We will not count all the projects' votes together, like we did last month. Everyone gets a vote, so that seems pretty fair to me. For istance, those who do not agree with a MFW winning, they can vote for every other entry if they wanted to, and even encourage other people to do so.

The point is, this is a contest for the people, by the people. The contestants are not PSX-SCENE staff, and voting is open to members and staff alike, although it seems some people would rather hand the voting over to the staff, but that is currently not the case.

And yet you didn't respond to the fact that people are getting 'entries' for doing nothing more than using publicly available tools. It's complete idiocy actually.

This has been discussed several times. There has always been more to these entries than just the public tools. Other work was done to make the releases. For example, NFW was the first CFW to include Cinavia Disabled. There were also other steps taken that PS3MFW did not have readily available.

The point is that those works don't have a single original thing in them. Cinavia patches weren't made by bitsbubba, he just added them to a MFW. This isn't developing, and I find it quite hilarious that a guy who was asking for help in every step of his "Ultimate" CFW (cof, cof...) enters a developing contest. I'm talking about RazorX, just for the record.

The point is ...they do offer things that you can not have with PS3MFW, without first learning a bit of developing, and creating custom tasks, etc.

These contestants have read the rules, and submitted their homebrew accordingly. If someone wants to go out and their and use available tools, and create a super kick ass theme, and that wins... hey guess what? Those are the breaks buddy! IT WHAT PSX-SCENE VOTED FOR! This is a psx-scene contest, and wheather you are a small time newbie, or elitiest hacked, you can enjoy the fun, and give back to the scene.

Read the rules, come at me with an actual proposal, and we can talk. I am all for making this contest as fair as possible for what it is... a fun way to get people to release more things for the scene, even if it is filler, it might mean alot more to someone else, than it does to others.

BOTTOM LINE: We want everyone happy, and participating. What's wrong with that?

Take a look at the current standings... is their even anything we really need to be talking about. It looks like it is going to be between ThatOtherPerson and facanferff.
