    It looks like the folks at PSJailbreak have finally understood how to do business.

    They have set their price to $99, which includes a PSJailbreak and PSDowngrade, now with unlimited downgrading. No longer are you limited to downgrading just once. You can upgrade for new games and still downgrade to play homebrew.

    Here's what they posted today:

    As of today we would like to announce a couple huge changes not only to our product but also to the whole community. PS Downgrade is now unlimited... that right.... Update to play original 3.50 with 3D videos and Online play and Downgrade to play homebrew or Other OS.
    We would like to announce an official price drop. Our new MSRP is 99$ USD instead of 125$ making it more affordable for everyone. Next, as of today all new hardware shipped will come with PSdowngrade installed free of charge.
    Lastly, all existing customers can start receiving the free PS Downgrade as of 29th of November using PS Upgrader available on our downloads page.
    Remember that we are the original Jailbreak , the original Downgrade and we will continue to pave the way. By supporting us you are supporting the community and future developments.

      This is silly, why can't apple just update firmware to 5.1 now what to do it will still be the same no online ??, maybe i am wrong but it says it is 4.2 and beyond does that mean that it is unpatchable ??

      I see this as a reaction to likelihood that a free ps downgrade will be available shortly. The writing is certainly on the wall. They're likely trying to cash in as much as possible now before an impending free version becomes available. Once that happens, I'm sure they'll see a sharp drop in sales.

      Do this now, generate a quick boost in sales before something free surfaces.

      I certainly don't have any inside information as to if/when that might happen, but reading about the progress that's been made recently, I wouldn't be surprised at all if something free and working shows up in the near future.

      Guess they finally listened to all the bashing... you can't charge what they originally did, justify it by saying you're going to get all this great support, and THEN come back and charge everyone for an update. They did the right thing.

      wow. i dnt want to upgrade every time i want to play online and then downrade when i want to play just the game.

      thats gay.
      plus whats so cool about this. they already have a free jailbreaker and about to come out with a free downgrader.

      the worst part is your hard-drive keeps getting erased.....everytime....

      Just back it up... It will only erase on a downgrade.. if you got stuff like homebrew and what not just back that one up and store it when you go back up to the latest F/W and then bam you downgrade back to 3.41 and restore it off your old 3.41 back up...

      That's like a 15 minute process everytime. Plus I'm pretty shure its not good for ur ps3 to upgrade and then downgrade 3 or 4 times in a day.
      My opinion jailbreak only if u have 2 ps3's

      Why r they charging 99 and r4king is charging 20.99 has ne body ever purchased anything from them?

      That is clearly a clone as the real singles have a.rubber casing on the outside.

      I am quite sure, that this is not the intended purpose of being able to up- and downgrade multiple times.
      I find the downgrade option very nice.

      In case I wish to play a game for a few weeks, which has nice online features, then I can backup and upgrade and stay at 3.50 until I have gone a bit tired of the online part of the game.
      If I later on miss some homebrew applications, for example some old school game emulators, then I can downgrade.

      I would never consider upgrading and downgrading on the same day.



      I have one question though, because I haven't followed the downgrade process closely:
      - What if Sony updates to 3.51 or 3.60, will this downgrade function work? Because I believe Sony could just require 3.51 for online gaming, which is constructed such that downgrade doesn't work directly.

      I am looking forward to more news on the free downgrade. All these work-arounds keeps the homebrew scene very attractive.

      I'd be interested if it didn't cost so much, $99 is excessive for me (that's like about £62. If it was say £30, maybe £40 I'd consider it.

      Kind of annoying really, I've been an upgrade refusenik for ages but rented Heavy Rain today and found I needed FW 3.40 (I'm on 3.15). So I decided to backup the Linux partition (to be honest I haven't used it in nearly a year) and I'm going to bite the bullet and upgrade, possibly to FW 3.40 or maybe just say sod it and upgrade to 3.50.

      ive got a ps3yes from r4king.. works fine delivery was quick but there was not serial number in with it from all the checks it seems genuine and works and updates fine but emailed them asking where serial code was and not reply.

      also just ordered psjailbreak and downgrade as just bought another ps3 for my son and it came with 3.50 on it.(( they charge 14.99 for delivery from gadget asia no option for free delivery thats to the uk.. and i know you will probably think why have 2 chips and free downgrade will be here soon .. but its just incase its not here before xmas..
