PSX-SCENE Forum Discussion for Sony PlayStation/PsOne/PS2/PS3/PSP/PS VITA
  • Ps3Wizard v1.1a - Updated

A late enrtry in our monthly contest, developer PsDev has made a wonderful program named Ps3Wizard that lets you install a Ps3 Template inside your Visual Studio. This way, you are able to create a PS3 homebrew, just like if you were going to create one for windows. The Template has the Fail0verFlow Makefile and Psvibe main.c file. Of course, you're supposed to edit the main to make it your own, and also can add in your own files if needed for better development. Then you are ready to make the pkg and run it.

    Features:
    • Works with Windows Vista, Seven and XP.
    • has Fail0vefFlow makefile with psvibe main.
    • Not sure but only tested with 2008 visual studio.
    • Easy to make homebrew starts and possible finishes.

    Make sure stuff:
    • Once the program has been written you should compile it to a pkg in PsL1ght as the makefile set for that.
    • Dont take of the Files Folder it cant run with out it you get a error like in the picture below.

      Yes, good work PsDev.
I'm beginner Windows/Mac developer and want to start making homebrew for PS3, and if it would be a good SDK on Windows with integration with Visual Studio it would be amazing.

If you are beginner than why you use "ultimate" instead of free "express" version?

Anyone got this working? What does PSDev mean when he says "Dont take of the Files Folder it cant run with out it you get a error like in the picture below." I get the first error above. I'm using VS2008 on WinXP. Please explain my ignorance. LOL

excellent release psdev, this has given me a nudge to start coding for ps3, but unfortunately when i try to install it this message relays:
      Code:
      - Getting Ps3Wizard folder...
      - Searching for Visual Studio folder one sec...
      - Transfering files files...
Error: Cannot Transfer file WiiWizard.ico (Possibly run as admin?)
tried on 2 different machines (xp x32 and win7 x64) with the same result

i've tried running as admin with no success, seems like a permissions issue when trying to copy the files?

I was able to install this new version on VS2008, but when I start a new project with the ps3 template and I get an error "Error on creating file. File already exists or cannot write to file: \home\documents\visual studio 2008\projects\project1\project1\source\main.c".

then after I click ok it says "The operation could not be completed. Unspecified error"

It could be that the problem is that Im running windows thru parallels on my iMac. what is required to make this work other than Ps3Wizard and VS2008? does psl1ght need to be installed on windows, or can I still use my linux psl1ght installation that I have already setup?

      **edit**

I got it working. The problem was that you cant use your documents folder in a virtual machine using parallels. I copied my Visual Studio 2008 folder from my documents to my C:/ drive and changed settings in VS telling where I moved all that stuff, and it works no problem
