View Latest Updates Below: Today, PSX-SCENE member RazorX brings everyone a new 3.55 CFW he created with PS3MFW Builder, PS3Ultimate. Along with this release, he has also shared the tcl files he made for use with PS3MFW Builder, including a 3.70 Spoof. RazorX hopes other members will help with along the way, as he continues developing PS3Ultimate. Read the following for the current specs of this project:

Currently, there are three different versions: 3.66 Spoofed, 3.70 Spoofed, and 3.55 Unspoofed. NOTE: With the versions that come SPOOFED, the only way to revert back to another FW is though Recovery Menu.

Hi all, this is a 3.55 CFW Ive just finished creating with PS3MFW Builder. It is setup in a way I think everyone will like, here is some of the options I set:

- Patched Lv1 Hypervisor
- Patched Lv2 Kernel
- Patched Package Installer
- Patched all self/sprx to secure privacy
- Patched application launcher
- Added homebrew category
- Added Start Game (Disc-less) to game category (/app_home/PS3_GAME/)
- Cleaned unwanted items from XMB
- Patched translations
- Replaced coldboot
- Replaced some RCO files
- Replaced some XML files
- Changed cinavia DRM affected files
- Changed default theme
- Spoofed to 3.70 (3.70 51968 001:CEX-ww)

Here is a image of what it looks like, although i cant take a image of my actual ps3 ive made a image that looks like it so you can see what it looks like..

After you install this CFW, go straight into theme settings and apply the default theme. I would also like to say I'd be very happy to recieve any help. That is going to really improve this CFW further. I have been trying to change the icons on the ingame xmb and the main xmb, to set it up were I dont need the theme. But, I have had little success so far, so any help would be appreciated. I have put the "Start Game (Disc-less)" in games, and the "Install Packages" in debug. In the future I'd very much like to also have the debug settings in there, so if anyone can do this let me know..

To do this firmware I had to create my own tcl files, so I have included them too. Ive also included some altered pkg files for you to try, and by altered I mean the categories changed, and images slightly altered. So enjoy...

UPDATE:

This cfw below has been updated with a 3.70 spoof and i have just installed it and it does now say version 3.70 so if you have installed the previous cfw with the 3.66 spoof just install this straight over the top of it from the recovery menu..

For all you who want unspoofed versions here you go ive also added a spoof_version.tcl for 3.70.

UPDATE 3:

Ive just created a larger theme for my cfw it now has 16 different backgrounds in HD and SD i hope you all like it

And for all of you who want something different and know what to do with rco files ive just created a black theme which i think is fantastic i created every icon but you cant change the psn icon with a theme as far as i know so ive included the rco file to change it, ive also included the normal one to switch back its only 1 rco so its not difficult and let me know what you think so i can use that in a future release thanks..

Instructions aka 1-2-3 UFW (PS3 Ultimate 3.55 CFW):
1. Format USB device FAT32
2. Place PS3UPDAT.PUP in x:/PS3/UPDATE
3. Install via XMB
NOTE: If you are not on OFW 3.55, please download and install that first, the same way you would install NFW. You can find OFW 3.55 here.

Download: REMINDER - the only way to revert back to another FW is though Recovery Menu, unless using Unspoofed version.

Can someone please record this and post to youtube? I like how this looks but I cant get to my ps3 till tomorrow. Would be nice to have a video to the thread.

First of all need to say you did a nice job but after i intalled this CFW my ps3 doesnt recognize my external hd... it was working fine with kmeaw... any ideas of what i can do to resolve that? Thank you in advance.

Does this firmware also disables Cinavia in AVCHD and Bluray?

down2none im not sure whats wrong my external hdds work fine and none of the modifications i made should have any affect on the usb function try if you havnt already switching on the ps3 and then putting the external hdd in

Rozorx, i try that but it didnt work. I just borrowed a fat 80gb with kmeaw and my external hd works fine. My ps3 is a 160gb slim, and only recognize a 2gbflash drive(fat32) after i installed ps3ultimate i tryed other external hd and other flash drive. My external has 3 partition, 1 ntfs and 2 fat32. Try to google it but i didnt find nothing like this... pretty weird. Thank you anyway

i like what you have done with this, luv the theme. all working in latest version except the retro icon not matching black theme. how that gets worked out.

please would you mind elaborating? as ive been on KMEAW since the 1st day it came out and i havent really had much problems
apart from the occasional freezing up of the console if i leave it on a paused game for long, but i dont wanna be missing out on anything.

basically this is just like kmeaw. same amount of games play. spoof to latest version so you don't accidentally update (does nothing else). cleaned up unwanted icons and unused icons from xmb (thx, hated that too). created homebrew category which is where the TV icon was and changed Playstaiton Network icon to retro for your emulator stuff. and changed friends category to debug. other than moving things around and cleaning the appearance it is same as kmeaw.

Just installed and installed the black theme. luvin theme but retro icon not themed for some reason. your screenshot shows it but not in theme for some reason. network does work i just see the following when doing test, "An error occurred during communication with the server. This is a DNS error.(80710101)". weird cuz all seems to be working fine.

I have a question I read in your read me that you Added Start Game (Disc-less) to game category. For games that needed a disc in drive with Kmeaw do you no longer need disk in drive for you CFW. I ask cause my drive dont spin/read disc. Thx and Thx for ur CFW goodjob

mgrimmenator to get the black retro icon on install flash mounter pkg (dev_blind) and download xmb_plugin_normal (Black & White) (zip)‎ above and copy the xmb_plugin_normal (Black).rco to your desktop rename it xmb_plugin_normal.rco copy it to a usb stick or ext hdd then once your dev_flash is mounted navigate to /dev_blind/vsh/resource/ with file manager and rename the rco there to xmb_plugin_normal.rco.bac and copy the one off your usb stick over and if you hit the ps button to bring up the ingame xmb you should see the black retro icon if you do then you can quit the file manager and your done

superman2k2 no you dont need a disc in the drive to play games that support it like prototype that plays perfect without a disc

yeah i think everyone that patches the selfs/sprxs for privacy gets that network error its fine..

You know the funny thing is I've always had "app_home/PS3_GAME" as "Play Game (disc-less)" until I released NFW
