PS3ITA CFW v3.55 Released - Full PSN Access Enabled

If you're tired of using charles or other proxies and programs to access the PSN, a user at the ps3ita forums has just the custom firmware for you. PS3ITA CFW v3.55 has been released, which allows you full access to the PSN without the use of proxies. The firmware is based on kmeaw's firmware, with the addition of patches which allow PSN access.

We were waiting for new developments about online game on custom firmware (see kmeaw, geohot and others) when one of the brightest minds of our team has produced what we might call, the fastest possible access for the PSN.

The firmware is based on Kmeaw’s custom firmware, to which were added 2 small patches which allow access to the PSN!

Access is fast,no PC is needed to serve as a ” bridge “and then programs like ****Psn or charles, skipping the check of the model (debug, retail, reftool, etc.) and setting of the PS3 fw at 3:56 .. (not in the XMB)

Of course the risk of BAN is still high and being a CFW, ps3ita assumes no responsibility for any brick during installation.

Remember installing a CFW is totally at your own end-user risk, and you must take full responsibility for your own actions, plus clearly understand that Sony has the full right and legal terms and means to BAN your PS3 console and/or PSN account from any online access at anytime!

I'm wondering what the two workarounds added to this firmware are?
#1) CA27.cer
#2) ????? (No DNS bypass? 3.56 spoof instead?)

Is my PSid still visible? Should i use Ninja?
Who's redirecting what info to whom?
Who's on first?

I'd rather apply these patches to my WuCFW instead (Most stable STILL for me)

Might be out of date in a day or two, but Nice work either way.

Yes
it works fine with no need for fckpsn or charles or ps3dns
You must be on official 3.55 prior to update
and then install ps3ita update (via recovery menu if need)
so reflash back to official 3.55 then update to this
also peeps on psx scene reporting as working fine with full access to psn and store with games like killzone 3 and black ops.

It has also been reported that if you have a 3.56 spoofer
make sure you uninstall it before reflashing back to original 3.55
as its been causing issues.
this has happened to me last week as when i put spoofer on it froze my 3.55 kmeaw and refused to output a hdmi signal
luckily i still got signal from recovery and reflashing cfw fixed it.

But wat bout my cracked firmware i mean...will it be cracked if i update to this one..?

You don't need to reflash back to original

You can go straight to this from kmeaw in recovery mode

(at least on my launch 60GB phat)

Also, all HDD contents were preserved and all binaries that ran before still ran

My only question being, do I need to deactivate any port 80 app? if not then I'll probably install it.

Or it could be a situation that you do not have a computer available for it.
While I am out on the road for about 7 months of the year and use rv park internet services and my phone for internet...........I don't want to bring a laptop up every time I might decide to go onto PSN.

I may be in the minority, and yeah, you could call it lazy.........but I also don't want the hassle of having cords strung out around the rv.

Or they don't have another dedicated computer. Why do people ignorantly assume everyone has full access to a computer? Many people don't leave their computer on 24/7 either.

Yes you can but it is recommended (by the devs who created it(that you reflash back to official 3.55 firmware first.
maybe to sort the .cer files i dunno
as long as it works lol

it will not change anythin you have installed so dont worry
when you have official 3.55 then you might not see all your apps n stuff
but when back on cfw youll be able to see them again

or like the gentlemen suggested below
just update straight to this one (ps3ita) and you wont notice any difference
apart from not needing pc to go onliine/psn
