PS3 Media Server 1.50 Beta has been released which allows you to share between your computer and your PS3. Check out the details in the changelog below.

General:

Built from SVN r949.
Released as beta because some code changes haven't been widely tested yet.

* Main (Status) tab displays a large tick when it's connected to a renderer instead of a PS3 or warning image
* Updated MediaInfo to 0.7.50 from 0.7.47

Upgrade Notes:

For 1.23.0 and above:

* Just uninstall the older version and install newer one

For versions prior to 1.23.0:

* To retain your old settings you may have to copy your old config file/s to a new directory.
To find out where the new directory is on your computer, run the program and go to the Traces tab and look on the 14th line, the line that says "Profile directory:", that is the folder your config files should be saved now.
* If you use the "media library / cache" option you should reset it.

I'm still on 1.10. Is compatibility better with these newer releases? I get a lot of "corrupt file" errors when trying to play mkv files from my computer. About half of them don't work.

Nigga you're still on 1.10 and you're asking if 1.50 is any better? C'mon now. Of course it is.

I really recommend you guys moving to Serviio + Showtime. It's really the best combination there is out there now. No "corrupt file", no subtitles errors, you can change audio or subtitles on the fly, and the player is much more comfortable than the original PS3 one. If any of you need any help running these, feel free to ask. Maybe I'll even add a guide?

I've tried all the DNLA server out there for windows and I still think PS3mediaserver is the best.

It takes 2 steps to get it running, first install it, second tell it which folders to watch, thats it. There's no waiting until it's checked all the files or looked for metadata or built it's library, everything is available on the PS3 instantly.

Unlike the other's it plays everything I throw at it, MKV, M2TS, TS, AVI, MPG, MOV all in full 1080p with full DTS surroundsound and it also plays DTS-WAV files from my surroundsound music collection. I've never had any problems with it and been using if for ages.

I haven't tried using it with showtime, although you can, but I've never needed to ether.

I also use it with my DVD ISO collection as it mounts the ISO on the host PC then streams the titles to the PS3.

I don't need to change audio channels as I only understand English and even in multi audio MKV files I always get the English audio, even when other languages are the first. I've also have no problems with subtitles, ether built-in MKV files or seperate like with AVI files.
