PSX-SCENE Forum Discussion for Sony PlayStation/PsOne/PS2/PS3/PSP/PS VITA
  • PS3 Media Server 1.23.0 Released

    Movie buffs will be happy to hear that PS3 Media Server has been updated to v1.23.0. The largest addition to this release is support for cell phone videos (3gp files). Also included in this release are fixes for the windows service.
    Attachment 1257

    Important note for Windows users:

    To retain your old settings you may have to copy your old config file/s to a new directory.

    To find out where the new directory is on your computer, run the program and go to the Traces tab and look on the 14th line, the line that says “Profile directory:”, that is the folder your config files should be saved now.

    Right now the Linux and Windows versions are available, with the OS X build coming soon (still having problems making it, sorry to everyone affected)

    Changelog

    * Fixed Windows service

    * Windows service now starts automatically with the computer

    * Sony Bravia Z5500 (and possibly others) work again

    * Fixed PS3 not being detected for some users

    * Support cellphone/smartphone (3gp) videos

    * Windows service is uninstalled with program

    * Detect Popcorn Hour and WDTV live more reliably

    * English, Russian and Dutch language updates

      I hope .cdg files are supported soon. If this happens my place will really be party central on a Friday night :-)

      I too haven't had any luck with this. Any assistance will be appreciated. I'm mainly interested in internet video streaming over the internet.

      Port forwading should fix the problem.

      Open PS3 media server and goto "General Configuration" tab. In the "Force IP of the server" box, use your computer IP address (start->run->cmd->ipconfig). In "Force port of the server" use 5001 as default or create your own port. Make use to go into your router and forward the port you choose. Save and reopen. Look at "Traces" tab and see if there's any error. This should work.
