    UPDATE: PS3 Game Updates v1.04 has been released, which includes several fixes. The master of the PS3Tools, aldostools, has just released another application, PS3 Game Updates v1.0. The new application that download PS3 game updates, was actually inspired by PS3 Game Updater 1.41. Of course, aldostools has added his own features to his application, like the ability to clearly see which games patches require 3.56+ firmware. There has been plenty more added as well, so be sure to take a look at the information below to find out more.




    About NAME:
    My new tool... (beta)

    I really liked the trueicecold's PS3 Game Updater 1.41, but I wanted a couple of new features... so I made my own "PS3 Game Updates 1.0"...

    Features:
    -The title id field accepts many formats of title id (eg: title id with/without dash, content id, URL of pkgs, etc). Also supports search game by name.
    -The title id field also accepts the path of GAMES or the IP of the PS3 (to scan multiple games).
    -Show game patches 3.56+ in a different color (pink).
    -Auto-detects game patches already downloaded (search in PS3_UPDATE, PS3_EXTRAS, and in the default download path) and show them in gray.
    -Asks for confirmation to download patches 3.56 or higher. Required firmware version is appended to the name of the file (for 3.56+).
    -Show game cover and game description even if the game does not have updates.

    Required: MSVBVM50.DLL (not needed if you already use his other tools)

    tthousand's notes - Currently, this tool is not working for me (and perhaps I am the only one experiencing the error); I am receiving Error code: '70' - access denied. I have already contacted aldostools about the problem, so feel free to try it out for yourselves and see if you have better luck than I did.

      Nice work aldostools! It works great.

      The only bug I found was if I copy and paste the GAME ID in the search box, the Verify button doesn't come active until I type something into the box. Perhaps you can fix this?

      nothing working on win 7 x64 shows everything but i cant pull anything up

      going to test this on x86 unit now win xp

      ok i got it working now i have to click ENTER in the search after i typed in a title ID

      I too get the Access denied message. Then a message pops up about a security certificate not being trusted or valid.

      I get the same problem, i get a 'run-time error 70, permission denied' and then 'certificate problem', all other aldostools work fine, and i have installed the 'MSVBVM50.DLL' package. Any ideas anyone ? By the way, i run win8 consumer preview, 64-bit.

      Very nice app----PS3 Game Updates v1.0...
      Install also MSVBVM50.DLL otherwise it wont work. Would be nice if next release would already include this file in software already...
      It so convinient to look for updates with it. No need to run around whole internet to look for updates. Just entered ID of game and thats it...
      It loads patches from internet. I am happy to use it.
      I very hope that developer will improve this nice helpful software...

      Are you able to copy link to the update package into your computer's clipboard so it can then be pasted into a browser/download accelerator to download it quicker or can you only use the software to download it?

      Im affraid im a complete noob with tools like this, but ive managed to update 4 internal games no problem, gonna try the external later. Many thanks


      Ok, so tried to test it with the external hdd but no joy
      Am i expecting to much or am i doing something wrong? Scanned internal games perfect.

      @Jay-Jay: thanks for the bug report. I will fix it later today.

      @Pimpnutz: I think you are using the IP of your PS3 to scan your games.
      If you enter only the IP, the program will scan only <IP>/dev_hdd0/GAMES
      For other paths, enter:
      <IP>/dev_hdd0/game
      <IP>/dev_usb000/GAMEZ
      <IP>/dev_usb001/GAMES

      where <IP> is the IP address of your PS3. eg. 10.0.0.6

      @krytonic: when you select a PKG item, you can right-click and copy the URL
      also a clickable link appears in the bottom of the window (it opens in your default browser)

      @SkyNet: thanks for the suggestion. In the news and iin my website you will find the VB5 runtime. It is required to be installed only one time.

      @sealhealy & @Amoebiuss: tthousand also reported me this error with 'permission denied'. I have to find a way to recreate it, to this this issue. It isn't happening in my PC.

      I just replaced the files with the version v1.0.1 (same URLs above)

      The paste issue reported by Jay-Jay should be fixed.

      I also made some internal changes trying to fix the error 70 'access denied'

      im getting the error 70, hope you get this fixed soon! wanted to update my games to the latest possible versions for ages but never new which were the highest you can go to!

      I still get Permission Denied on 1.0.1

      I should also mention that the MSCOMCTL.OCX that the installer installs gets flagged by SuperAntiSpyware as a FAKE process.
