Sony Computer Entertainment finally showed its hand tonight, with the release of
3.56 Official Firmware. It is strongly advised that you do not update if you wish to retain custom firmware etc. However, the firmware still needs to be analyzed to see exactly what the new version brings and if anything is patched.

IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO UPDATE TO 3.56, IN ORDER TO RETAIN JAILBREAKING AND OR CUSTOM FIRMWARE
UPDATE #1:
As expected, the new firmware kills all homebrew. The update includes a new .self file with a new, previously unknown, key inside. This means all homebrew tools will have to be updated in order to restore functionality. More to come.
Update #2:
<@Mathieulh> 3.56 has nice new stuffs in there :P
<@Mathieulh> like remote code execution upon login
<@Mathieulh> don't tell me I haven't warned you
