370_001 DECH (Debugging Station) Update Data
When the system software is updated to the version 3.56 or later, downgrading cannot be
performed using update data that is older than 3.55.
As for details, please refer to the following technical note.

    (Technote ID:201101-05 ps3.scedev.net/technotes/view/1074)

    WARNING:
Do *NOT* update from version below 0.96 directly to this flash.
Instead, update from earlier versions to version 0.96, then update to this version.
Failure to update to 0.96 prior to applying this flash may render your hardware inoperable.
Such hardware must be returned to SCE for repair.

As always, it's important to note that these PS3 Debug / TEST updates will currently NOT install on a retail PS3, and so it is intended for examination and comparison purposes only unless you own a Dev unit.

For those curious, running this updater on a retail PS3 will not damage it, however, it will give the following error before the installation completes: The data type is not supported. (8002F029)

I wonder if it's possible to upgrade to this from rebug's full debug 3.55 firmware.

im pretty sure if it were possible it would be out there by now, new key code has kind of killed it.

sony has released ofw 3.56 8 months ago and no one has been able to jailbreak it. Meanwhile they have even released a "hack proof" ps3 model. i think that the ps3 hacking scene is slowly dying.

You guys are just being too negative, everyone in this scene just sits around saying it's dead... Well no ****ing wonder. It's because you are all sitting around doing nothing. And a #1 thing with hacking: anything can be hacked. Ex: around a week ago maybe not even that, a team figured out a way to hack the 360 slim when it was proclaimed to be "unhackable". It took forever but it happned. It will happen for us if we just keep trying. And will it be some hard odd way no one would have thought of when it does? Yea probably, but IT WILL happen eventually, it always does.
