  • PS3 Cheat Enabler v1.2 Released by TeamSOS

Hello dudes and dudettes, the stealthful TeamSOS has released another helpful app that will catch the attention of many users. The PS3 Cheat Enabler is a simple GUI app that lets you turn on cheats in your games. It works by editing the Eboot.bin files of your game, but not to worry fellow brethren, this GUI will get your cheats on and off in a click of a button. Instructions on how to use the app is on the app itself.

You can download the PS3 CHEAT ENABLER from here:-
    PS3 Cheat Enabler v1.2

The database file released with v1.2 has an error in the table made for Valkyria Chronicles. You can rename Field1 to SearchVal and field2 to ReplaceVal, or simply download the corrected database file here.

    CodeMastersProject auto tools found here.
    __________________________________________________ _____________________
Before you jump in, there are some tidbits of info you guys need to know, as in:-

    1. The cheat database comes in separately so make sure they are in the same folder to make the app work properly. We did it this way because it becomes easier to just update the database(just a few KB)rather than updating the entire software.

2.This app has an Auto Mode and Manual Mode. Auto mode is the easy way, just select the eboot, direct yourself to the correct game from the drop down box, check the cheats you want and wallah all done. Manual mode you need to select the eboot and put the hex pattern of the original code and then enter the hex pattern of the modified code and then update the eboot so the cheat is enabled. Auto Mode is normally preferred.

3.After the app edits the eboot, remember to replace it with the original eboot of the game or the cheats obviously wont work. Transfer it via USB,FTP it...doesnt matter, just get that edited eboot in the USRDIR of the game. Remember to keep a backup of the original eboot if you want to remove the cheats at anytime.

4.Newly created eboot is named MOD_EBOOT.BIN to avoid overwrite. Rename it and replace your original eboot, make sure to make a backup in case you want to revert the cheats

5.Known issues: select an output folder other than root or desktop, or leave it blank to create a defualtout folder in the same directory as the app, otherwise you might encounter an error due to privileges

6.We are working on pkg installing features for cheats to use with legit discs and non-backup manager loading games.

7.These cheats do not work in updated games as they are npdrm encrypted, we are working on a bypass(well actually blazie is doing most of the work...great guy.)

8.Most of the cheats we found are from codemasterprojects.com, really helpful site.

9.Also bear in mind that this app has been created for the enjoyment of yourself or just having a good time with your friends or whatever, it is NOT INTENDED FOR ONLINE CHEATING/PIRACY, you have been warned...what happens online with the cheats is your fault, we are not responsible.

10.This is a GUI port of the codemastersproject auto tools, which can be found here.

Finally, Here is a list of supported games...this list will grow with time:

    v1.2 changlog:
    Code:
    - Bug fixes
    - Saves last used output directory.
    - Allows you to open bin files with the application. That way you can bind .bin files with it and open them by double clicking the file, or dragging the file onto this application and opening them that way.
This application requires a set of decryption keys to unself the EBOOT.BIN file. All you have to do is download the ps3 keys and place them in your user folder. On Windows 7 that's in:
    C:\User\[yourusername]\ps3keys

Without the files you will receive an "elf not created" error msg.

So long as they find a way to disable it when playing online, I'm happy. Hate cheaters online. Cheat all you want offline, but when you take it online it's just pathetic.

Is there a tool that allows for hacking your own codes or a constantly updated database we can get access to?

My thoughts exactly. My first run on Ninja Gaiden 2 was fun. My second run was just me killing people cause I was bored, and it was fun to not have to worry about money, items, or upgrades, and have unl magic in case a boss got annoying. It added a level of re-playablility to the game it was otherwise lacking.

Patches from $ony can very easily prevent online playing, because we can't decrypt them and modify the eboots with the cheats. You could manually unself and make_self_npdrm the outputted eboot and replace the one in the patch, but that doesn't always work. An application for the ps3 could easily bypass that by modifying the memory addresses instead of the eboots, but 99% of devs wouldn't even want to mess with it cause the only point would be online cheating (I won't mess with it either). I kept the modified eboot approach to cut down on online cheating. I don't want to see online play altered because of this application.

As far as editing the database, that was my intention. I kept the database file separate so it could be community maintained. If your interested in making your own codes, all that's required is time, a hex editor, and unself.exe.

The format in the database is simple if you look at it. The GameIndex table lists the games available, the only special character allowed is ":", and no leading or trailing spaces. Then you make a table with the same name with no spaces, and fill it with the cheats. The naming structure has to be the same as in the database, easy to use another table as a template.

Can you please elaborate? I tested this app pretty thoroughly, with multiple testers and didn't have an issue. What error are you getting?

Interesting... I'm trying to patch Disgaea 3's eboot, but it keeps telling me that it has uneven patterns. What is this and how do I fix it?

EDIT: Patching the NTSC version by the way.

I've also been getting the 'Uneven pattern' error everytime I try to auto patch. Manual patching won't make the .self file, or maybe I haven't been waiting long enough (About five minutes). Tried it with Trinity Universe, Gundam Musou 3, Another Century's Episode, Fist of the North Star, Tales of Graces F, and White Knight Chronicles. All give me the same error.

      On Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

How do I edit the .mdb file properly? Taking the hint about 'tables', I opened it in Excel 2007, but it asks me to enable data connections, then seems to open a brand new project/window every time I want to edit a different table. Is there a way to streamline it?

uneven pattern seems to mean that no match was found for the line you want to patch

it also happens to me but I can cheat manually with autotools v5

if I try to manually cheat with the Cheat Enabler it says working... but doesn't actually extract the ELF

I have the PS3 Tools autotools V5 (also tested with V4.1C) and cheat enabler in the same folder I'm using the binrepOLD.exe renamed to binrep.exe
not quite sure where to get a new one or how to do it without one ^^

      please help

The database is an access database. I'm still trying to figure out the uneven patterns msg. I can't get it to replicate on my system, which makes me think that a dependency is missing. I'm looking into it.

Now this is helpful info. When you click extract elf it doesn't actually create the elf in the output dir for modification? That would mean unself is not working. If I can replicate this on my computer or get a tester with the problem chatting with me on msn, then I can track it down and find a fix.

Exactly. The log shows 'Working...', but that's it. No ELF file is created. I thought it would be a temporary file that is kept somewhere else and tried to go ahead with replacing the patterns, but the log is then overwritten with 'An elf file is not found!', so...
