Another great tool has been released for the PS Vita and a vital one at that. OpenCMA allows you to bypass the PS Vita's online checks and therefore the mandatory update process.

I believe that many people have found PSVita's the CMA (Playstation content management assistant) often refuse to work. CMA often an excuse to strike the following:

Not connected to the Internet
Not updated to the latest official firmware.

Sony did so in order to prevent cracking. Think about how hackers released tomorrow for a certain version of the PSV of the crackers. Sony can make your PSV in the CMA acceptance before the update can not connect to access any content.

openCMA can help you solve the problem.

Installation method:

If the CMA is running, turn off the CMA
Extract all files to the CMA installation directory
Run run.bat, (WIN7 user may need to run as administrator)
Re-run the CMA

psp2-updatelist.xml update files in disguise. If you really need to upgrade later, you can upgrade to temporarily rename this file before, but this update from the Internet. Or download the latest psp2-updatelist.xml to the CMA directory:

Nice work but how long before this is patched? please stop releasing stuff until this console hits all markets. I'd hate to see this stuff useless by the time it hits the US

There are people out there that already have one including myself. I'm pretty sure the only real reason they have delayed the product for next year is because they have screwed up on the firmware side of things and its a guarantee you guys will get one that's already been patched with the latest and most secure firmware they have.

That was my point. No sense giving them more stuff to patch before everyone gets a chance to get their hands on one

So the Japanese should wait and have mandatory patches to make you happy? Just because it isn't released in YOUR market doesn't mean hacks shouldn't be released yet. Stop being selfish.

I don't see it as being selfish. For starters, I'm not buying one. But isn't it also selfish to basically help sony find their holes by releasing this stuff before everyone has a chance to own one because they can't wait a couple months?

No, no, they should wait until 2013, that way we can still use this later on when we're using cfw 2.00, duh.

But actually they should wait until cfw 3.0 to release it, that way we can play more games that are locked out on 2.6.

In fact, just to be safe, they should wait until sony releases their next hand held, and stops caring about the vita.

I didn't say all that. I don't think what I said was unreasonable about letting everyone have the ABILITY to buy one if they want first before doing these releases but I guess you can try to make anyone look like an idiot if it gets you through the day. why can't something like this be put on the ps3? i really don't understand the scene sometimes, the vita has managed to hack this in months and the ps3 is so old now no one has even got near doing this on the ps3, it just shows how slow the ps3 scene is.

Uh, what? You don't need the newest firmware, or an internet connection to transfer files to your ps3.

Huh? What can we do on the Vita that we can't on the PS3? What Vita backups can we play on the Vita?
