  • PS Vita 1.81 eCFW Games Back On PSN & Still Exploitable

For those who missed every exploitable 1.81 PS Vita game here's some good news... If you've got a PS3 on OFW or a 4.21+ CFW and your Vita is still on 1.81 or below. As most of you know not long after an exploitable game is named it get's pulled from the PS Store, luckily Sony has put Mad Blocker Aplha, Urbanix and Gravity Crash Portable back on the Store and this method let's you get whichever game you choose onto your 1.81 Vita, NOT any higher firmware. You will need to install OpenCMA which can be found HERE to be able to transfer the game to your PS Vita.

Mad Blocker Alpha is the best game to get because it's the cheapest and you only need to press X when it asks to load the eCFW. I've tested this with Mad Blocker Alpha and TN's eCFW still works, follow these steps to get the exploitable game on your 1.81 Vita:

    1. Make sure OpenCMA is running on your PC and connect the Vita data cable.
    2. Open Content Manager on the Vita and when you get to the screen that asks what you want to transfer disconnect the Vita from the PC but DO NOT close Content Manager on the Vita, you will get a "The PC has been disconnected" error, that's normal press OK.
    3. Connect the Vita data cable to the PS3, choose ""Connect to a PS3 System" and you should get to the transfer screen again.
    4. If you get this far then it's safe to buy the game on your PS3 and download it but don't install it.
    5. Under "Copy Content" choose "PS3 System ---> PS Vita System", then "Applications", then "PSP/Other", then "Applications Downloaded on the PS3 System" then choose the game and select Copy.
    6. Install the exploited game save that can be found HERE and you're ready to go.

It said that it only works for 1.81 and not on 2.01 Vita. Right now, There is a new PSP Kernel Exploit for 2.00 and 2.01, But it is not released yet

I don't think so but even if it does I'm not sure how well it would work because I think I remember there being problems porting the exploit for these games to lower firmwares but there is a way of updating to 1.81 and not 2.01, I don't know the method because I haven't tried it myself but do some research on it in google.

This is actually cool beyond belief.....Here is why....once $ony forces a Vita update you can no longer log on PSN to buy new content (not just the exploited games). With this trick, I can use my CFW PS3 to purchase Vita content and then use this method to transfer that content to my non-updated Vita. That is fricking awesome. I wonder what this would do with a newer game that supposedly requires updated firmware to purchase/run. Also I wonder if there is a way to put non-purchased content on the PS3, fake its singning like ReactPSN does but with a ReactPSN type program for vita content and then transfer it with this method. I have a feeling this trick could lead to bigger things like running Vita homebrew or even unsigned content....I am going to do some playing myself this weekend to see what can be done as I will buy something newer (post 1.81) and see if I can get it to transfer and play on my Vita....woohoo

I was gonna say don't buy new stuff but if you're willing to test it that would be great for the rest of us.

Cool, I missed out on the MBA release. I got the MBA just before they took it off the store but, was unable to transfer it cause they(Sony: the Evil CRAB MONSTER) already black listed it. Now I can see what I've been missing.

You do? Cause I just got the MBA from the store again(*) and loaded just fine. TN menu came right up.

      * I deleted the game on the PS3 cause I couldn't transfer and or use it.

I already had gravity crash butnhated the long load and startup time. I had purchased the urbanix 2 pack but $ony had pulled Urbanix. Urbanix was back up and in my download list so I downloaded it and tested this trick and it worked so now i have 2 explioted games. I have a new $20 card to load and then will see if there is something new post 1.81 i can buy and try. From info over at wololo it sounds like a 2.01 exploit is coming this month so the game will be afoot again...lol

Interesting note but for me its seems as though TN-c has been less stable than TN-B was. I have had several lockups and had to do full shutdowns to get out. When i was using tn-b with MHFU on 1.8 i never had any trouble. I have Tn-c setup with urbanix and tn-b with gravity crash going to go back to using B to see if it is better....

I have heard U can play ps1 on eCFW but there is currentlt no sound support. Someone needs to figure out and write a sound driver for the hacked kernel mode. I have seen a guide or two so i think it can be done. Total Newb released his source code with the last TN-C release so hopefully someone will pick up the torch and dev a sound driver and further improve the hack.

As far as ps1 emulation on Vita I had purchased a number of ps1 for my psp/ps3 and the titles look and play well on the Vita so no reason to believe they wouldnt thu the eCFW mode. My favorites are the square games like FF and Chronocross as well as Suikoden and CastleV SOTN. Some ps1 stuff looks dated now but the classics still hold up well.

Blueprint88: I read about it over at wololo.net. some where in the forums there was a discussion about it. Play'em but no sound. Kinda dull

I made some new Forums for PSVita over at http://trading-post.sytes.net:6969/f...orum.php?f=119 and put up the FTP with a alittle guide under it. I had some trouble trying to get the damn thing to show up in eCFW after install. After alot of digging and searching I solved it. Simple Folder structure some ppl FAIL to mention to ppl that are just starting out.

I have 1.80, and not sure how to update to 1.81 safely. Also, can't find a good working link for open CMA. The instructions just point to the openCMA main page which is hosting the newest version for 2.00+ fw, and the older r4 links are dead. Anybody able to help with either?

Links for previous versions can be found at the bottom of the OpenCMA v5 page but I've also added a direct link for v4.5 at the bottom of this article.

WooHoo....I wanted to report this as it is exciting news. I just purchased the Drake Uncharted Fight for Fortune card game that was just released in the last week on PSN and used this trick to purchase and download with my CFW PS3 (Rebug 4.21) and then transfered to my 1.81 vita. It gave me an error this first time I tried to do the copy then when I tried again it actually copied. I just launched the game and it worked fine. I have not tried online mode but asume it won't work as it shouldn't let me connect to SEN without the firmware update. This is awesome though!!!!!! I love battling card games so am excited to try this out as it reviewed pretty well. I am guessing it depends on what what keys the devs have when they compiled and signed the game but most devs are probably still working off 1.8x keys as the 2.x update just came out very recently. So people might want to try some other newer PSN to see if this trick works but it does with the Drake game so those on 1.81 that want to play it give it a go. I am on USA PSN BTW and the game is $5
