Project PROGSKEET- One Device To Rule Them All?

So we know dongles went out the window after CFW came about and took over the scene, but this little device is gonna bring a new meaning to the name jailbreaking. It is named Project PROGSKEET, a revolutionary device that is said to end the dry spell of PS3 exploits on newer firmwares. PROGSKEET is currently still in the making and is yet to be released.

It's code name is "The Last Mile", obviously a pun on the end of pS3 security measures. It's apparently an all round dongle, able to NAND and NOR flash a large variety of consoles out of the box! It is even compatible with the notorious infectus chip, for added features. At the moment we aren't exactly sure of its full potential (although a lot are hoping it will fix bricks), but in the days to come more information will be available, or better, an official release.

The software developer has kindly left some detailed information for us :

so: cancel infectus order, be patient for at least 3 more days, you won't regret it

btw progskeet.com i assume will be up possibly in the 3day period but i hope people dont rage and get madover a estimated day then be like omg is it out yet

They should make replieing from the FP easier by making it so you don't have to quote anyone.

BTW i ain't not spending no money on no dongle.

NO exploit is immune to sonys firmware updates, and currently no one knows how to hack 3.66 ofw so whoever made this modchip please provide proof that your modchip is immune to future firmware updates instead of just assuming that it does without clarification.

GeoHot pretended that the PS3 was now wide open and that Sony could do nothing else than change their hardware. Yet a firmware update has resecured the console for 7 months now. I've yet to see if this device is that "immune" to future firmware updates

So ummm... is this supposed to be a NAND replacement for the ps3? If so, now we'll not only need cfw, but custom NAND images. I'm assuming we'll need some console specific keys, or something, wouldn't we? So we'd have to prep the custom NAND with information regarding our console, somewhat similar to FreeBOOT on the 360?

Considering we have been asked to cancel infectus orders one would assume this dongle is capable of downgrading from current official firmware.

No it is not NAND replacement , this is just a programmer same like Infectus ( you can call it Infectus-3 if you like ). it made by the same team ( too bad they drop the infectus support ).

ANY NAND OR NOR (CAR MARKET, HANDY PHONES etc, just send us a sample of the NAND and we can add in 1 hour the support to read and write it FOR FREE!)
TRANSFER SPEED: 1MB/sec (ex. about 16 sec. to read or write a whole PS3 Slim NOR flash).

what do they mean "dongle"? so it can be soldered in and used like a infectus , to downgrade fat and slim consoles and then what ? it can also be used as some sort of usb dongle device? but why? what can it do that other usb dongles cant?, and what do they mean "the end of the road for ps3 security"? if it is just a downgrade and infectus , then we already have that, sure not for all consoles , but i dont understand, what is so revolutionary about this?how is it the end of ps3 security? will it lead to a flashable cfw for 3.56+ without having to solder this thing in? and could this thing help hack the 3ds? if someone sends them the nand/nor for it and they send back something to read and write to it?

no that was fail overflow ,they said it was open and there was nothing sony could do, but they also said they wouldnt do any more work on , there goal was to bring back linux ,an not to exploit loaders or lv2 , but now people still cant have linux if they dont have an exploitable console , so even if there goal was to bring back than ,they didnt do that ,atleast not for everyone,they should have atleast worked on an exploit for newer fw if there true goal was to bring linux back ,they could have made it not have a lv2 patch for it ,like geohot did,just atleast release something

I'm not the one who said George pretended the system was irreversibly hacked, that was a quote from someone else I was replying to. My reply though was to the part he said that through a firmware patch the ps3 has been secure for 7 months running. My reply was that sure, if you are talking about what is publicly available. I really don't care about who said what in regards to sony security being irreversibly hacked. There really isn't anything such as a irreversible hack, just like there is no such thing as hack proof. Which is why some people still prefer the old school thought on keeping shit to themselves or kept in a small tightly knit group who exchanges information to those they know. This whole 'YES I FIGURED IT OUT I MUST TELL EVERYONE VIA YOUTUBE' is bullshit in my opinion and I don't subscribe to that thought because it does more harm than good, in terms of keeping a method, hack, trick working. Good luck with that though.

From what i understand, it has a new way of Dumping and flashing NAND and NOR. Now as everyone's knows the infectus chip has that covered, but it is a total bitch to use and is limited. This tool, says the developer, will be able to dump and flash any console, any chip, and make it possible to bypass most any security measure when doing so. But i would wait for an official announcement over the next week to find out the exact details.
