  • Possible Fix for Blu-Ray Playback Found

    We reported yesterday, that some users are experiencing the loss of Blu-Ray movie playback, after they downgraded their PS3. A possible fix has now surfaced, however, consider it a rumor, as it is not yet confirmed. Download the fix below, and place the files in their respective folders on dev_hdd0.

    For people having some problem to read bd movies after downgrade, someone on Gxmod have found how to enabled it. you need to add this files:

    - divx on \drm
    - 2files on vsh\bdplayer\
    - all \widget

    After a reboot, it verify that and it continue to works

      God, please someone guide how to, where to add these files. I am really new to downgrading. A complete downgrading guide with telling what to do with these additional files would be excellent. But anyhow this is great news!

      Did any of you now how to put .MKV working on the PS3.

      Use PS3Muxer to put the .mkv into .m2ts format (Blu Ray Container) and the PS3 will play it. Only takes 1-2 minutes to convert a full-time movie (1080p) into this format.

      Thanks for that comment, I was wondering how to achieve the same. I'm kinda "new" on this.

      I have also read in other forums where you can run unmodified 3.41 pup by holding down the power button until you get the hidden menu and applying it by selecting the last option "Update PS3"... not confirmed yet.

      I've downgraded from 3.50 to modified 3.41 pup in service mode. Then downgraded with standard 3.15 pup in service mode. Then loaded modified 3.41 pup again. Blu-ray movies works fine now!! I have compiled a hex that i used on a ps3speed usb dongle.

      this news was debunked even before it was ever posted here. this should be removed asap

      there is a 140+ page thread here on http://psx-scene.com/forums/f6/warni.../index143.html (WARNING! RED ALERT! DOWNGRADING KILLS BLU-RAY MOVIE PLAYBACK!)

      on why this doesnt work it has been covered multiple times in the thread that those files have nothing to do with the bd playback

      I downgrade from 3.5 to 3.41 and my Blu-Ray played fine when not jailbreak.
      Green screen when jailbreak.

      I downgraded and jailbroke my ps3 3.50. and my bluray is working!!

      jailbreak only works in 3.41... you have a spoofed 3.41 :P
      Remove the usb dongle and power on your console.. in settings it will show 3.41 NOT 3.50!

      I downgraded my ps3 fw 3.50 to 3.41 first using ti 84 plus calculator, and I jailbroke ps 3.41. My bluray works.

      I should mention that it is now know that this issue is only related to fats and not slims. fats loose bd playback on downgrade slims do not possibly cause the.self file was written for the slim and not the fats

      no that wont work ive tried all firmwares from 1.90 to 3.50 and none restore bd playback

      I've should have read this before downgrading mine! My bluray movies don't work anymore. I've got the 60gb model that had 3.50, then i downgraded it with the PS3YES dongle. So good news PS3YES works, games works using open manager 17.2 with games on external hard drive, PS3 game discs works fine....BUT bluray movies DON'T! Has anyone found a solution for this? i tried this solution from this site, didn't work, i tried this solution: http://psgroove.com/content.php?509-...Movie-Playback
      that didn't work, tried restoring my backup, didn't work.....anyone with any ideas? My mate downgraded his FAT PS3 80Gb & Slim PS3 120Gb & Blurays work fine....Y!?!?! Anyone HELP PLEASE
