why cant they just open the 3.60 pup on pc and make a program to extract the keys on pc i dont get why it all has to be done by getting it off the playstation 3 after the firmware is installed

I don't get it, we can easily get the 3.60+ public keys needed for decryption, will this really stop CFW? why not just patch the kernel with the new decryption keys??

haha so recently I sold my ps3 80gb mgs4 bundle with a hdd filled with games for $1000 bought a brand new gaming laptop and bought a ps3 40gb from a friend for $40 and just using that now to get linux and pirate mad games, HUGE MIDDLE FINGER TO YOU SONY, again I will never buy another product from you unless it's hackable so I could just **** in ur mouths.

geohot is NOT owned. He will release his work anonymously. all his settlement agreed to was for him not to hack any sony product forever, but when he releases his work it will be anonymously, and sony cant do s h i t about it.

sony will never stop graf chokolo. his git repositories are all over the net. we have his back. sony can take his equipment, but sony can never take away his will and knowledge, and his work is safe with us, copies are all over the net.

as for the psp scene ..yes , it true dark alex left the scene, but he worked underground in small projects to contribute to the scene when time permitted him to do so, and yet, look how far we have come... there have been more hombrew and more custom firmwares released than ever before. same can be said about the ps3 scene... who needs 6.00m33 ??, when you have 6.38 ME v1 , 6.35 PRO B4, and 6.37 ME v8.

the ps3 scene was never dead , it was only progressing in the shadows, look how far we have come, it has not even been a full year yet, and we have all these custom firmwares, tools, managers, homebrew, backups, etc. the ps3 scene will be alive for many many more years to come, straight into and through the ps3's life cycle.

hackers will never die, they will only die in the eyes of mega corporations( eg; sony) , we hackers will always live , whether it be "underground" or "above ground".

it only a matter of time until someone releases the decryption keys for countless titles.

Hasn't Kakaroto announced a "solution" to the 3.60 firmware problem a few weeks back?
I'm starting to think some of those guys were waiting for 3.60 to appear in the wild. Which has happened now. Let's wait and see.

Um..why is everyone jumping ship ? Okay we need some new keys, fair enough. This fight is far, far from over. We been through this twice already. The devs are just holding out until they absolutely need to release something new, to keep sony from patching them too quick. Patients guys, don't give up just yet.
