GameStop is gonna love that one. A good part of their business is buy/sell/trade of used games. Gonna hurt their pockets pretty hard.

And who says I want a PSN account? I stopped agreeing with their TOS a while back when they said they could do whatever they wanted with your personal information and you had no recourse.

Guaranteed they won't get any money from me on that one

NO!!! That's a bad SONY!!! Bad Dog!!!

Best Buy does trade-in, Amazon does trade-in. And I even hear the xbox is supposed to be the same way.

i will boycott the shit outta this product just like I did EA with their online pass killing used game value if sony thinks they can lock a game I purchased to my PSN acct so I won't have the option to resell it later if I feel I want to. I'm tired of the way gaming has taken a turn for the worse this generation with DLC and lots of games intentionally leaving features that should be included in the first place just so they can sell it to you later for more money. Now DLC such as extra maps and other things that expand the game and make a game you finished fresh with new objectives/ things to do I'm all for and thats the way DLC should be treated but purposely excluding features or modes that should have been in the full game is just fawked, even recall i believe it was an EA meeting discussing DLC and how they could get you sucked into 10 hours of gameplay then start charging you $1 to reload, fawking leeches. Then you got EA making all their games with online passes so when you decide to sell the game, its got no multiplayer and brings down the value even more considering your already selling it 2nd hand, assholes. Now Sony wants their next generation hardware to lock the software to your PSN account, making it useless for resale. This latest development with sony's next gen isn't really concrete yet so hopefully this isn't really the case but am I the only one who see's this downward spiral gaming is taking? Shit it's expensive enough plunking down a few hundred on the console and then $60-$70 every single game (lots with missing content to resell to us later) without these fawkers nickel and diming us to death ffs!

You guys have to stop taking this as guaranteed fact. I don't take much notice to rumours this early.

But it seems to close the instant I press a button on the first menu.

Anyone remember the PS3 rumour that essentially said that once you put a game into your PS3 it's locked to it? Another rumour from Kotaku, always talkin' out of their asses. Unless Sony confirms it everything is a rumour, and should be taken as such, like a grain of salt, worthless.

I know one things real or fake, DLC has killed games, companies used to make a game (a complete game) now they put out half azz garbage based off of what sells best, I can honestly see gaming going in that direction even if it is fake for now

I got to agree with that. I hate DLC, most of the time I hardly use it anyways once I DL it. And then once I sell the game, I am screwed.

By adding anti-used game security to blu-ray games thats sony putting the middle finger up to the environment saying a big FU environment.

Well FU with my middle finger up to you to sony I'm done with you.

I think that it is worth mentioning that DLC have excisted for a long time, even before this generation. But earlier DLC used to be more of a free thing (like a couple of free multiplayer maps) or being sold as expansion packs. But even with all the DLC that excist in this generation, honestly i can say that i never played a game where i thought "this game feels unfinished" in terms of what content the game has. Do you have any examples where you have felt this way?

Personally i'm glad that DLC excist. It is a way to expand on a game after it has been released instead of having to wait maybe years for a sequel.

If you're done with Sony, at least you wont be affected by this system on PS4

But seriously, i really doubt that such a system will be included on the PS4 and Xbox 720 eventhough that there is a rumor about it. I think that this would be a big gamble for Microsoft and Sony, making it mandatory to have the consoles connected to the internet. However, this system has excisted for PC for years (like Steam activation, which is required even for games on discs), so techincally a system like this is not impossible.

If u have to connect to psn to unlock the game what would be the point of releasing games on disc when it could be downloaded from psn with a voucher code or credit card releasing games on disc would be absolutly pointless.

Im also guessing by the end of 2013 hard drive space wouldn't be an issue.
