PSX-SCENE Forum Discussion for Sony PlayStation/PsOne/PS2/PS3/PSP/PS VITA
  • Play PSX Games not bootable from Multiman

If you hadn't noticed, some PSX games don't appear in Multiman's XMMB and are marked as data discs and will not boot. If you load this (Breaker Pro Loader) up from the XMMB and then select the main option in the loader, you will be prompted to eject the Breaker Pro Loader disc and to insert your PSX backup. After you put the PSX backup of your choice into your PS3, press any button on the controller and voila! The game which wouldn't boot before and wasn't even being detected by Multiman, will now boot perfectly. Also save files will work with this method as well...just make sure (if using with the ps3) that you create the virtual memory cards prior to booting up Multiman.

Thanks to devil6621 for the article.

hmm, i was wondering if the original breaker pro works with this method, i guess not, but the question remains why doesn't the original work and the copy does? strange.

Nope, never copied a Breaker Pro because it can't be done.
For the very same reason you can't copy Swap Magic.

How about instead you make a video of YOU making a copy of an original Breaker Pro disc
I'd pay good money through Paypal to see that one being done for extra incentive.
You should have no problem since you have been doing it 'for two days' by your own words.

and if you saw a link to download Breaker Pro somewhere,
      just remember,.....if it's on the internet,...it's real.

ImportPlayer is a loader CD for the Playstation (you need a modchip). Its useful for changing the region code of the CD from PAL to NTSC or vice versa. It can help load import games for use in the PSone (with the aid of a modchip), as the PSone, even with a modchip installed can only load the same territory games as the console itself. The ImportPLayer loader CD can get past this problem, and let you boot your import CD on your PAL or NTSC PSone with a modchip installed.

Where's the part about the Breaker Pro guy ripping off this software format ?
      source ?

Look at screenshots from both "Breaker Pro" and "ImportPlayer". Source: I know the author of ImportPlayer. Breaker Pro is simply a hex-edited version of the ImportPlayer executable that's been pressed in a bootable CD. That's all I've got to say on this topic. Just wanted people to know that there's a better alternative to "Breaker Pro".

I have 3 children - the idea of playing off backups is not exactly new to me. However the blatant discussion of how to burn images of Bin+Cue files is just laughable in the context of the supposedly anti-piracy ps3 scene.

I been doing stuff you can't even imagine. I'm a programmer after all, but hey do you even know me?!...oh right...no, you don't know nothing about me, but thats ok, keep calling me noob, I would recommend doing a google search first just to make sure [link].

If you don't believe the fact that you can burn that backup of Breaker Pro and use it with the latest versions of multiMAN, then fantastic, my life continues , and you are just ignorant.

Btw, what time you think it is? 1997 ? LOL wake up.

Whatever you want to believe, whatever you want to post about me, just do it, Obama might give you a medal for your achievement. From now on I'm just gonna ignore you, keep displaying more of you great wisdom to the world.

      SeeYa!

Why? I've got 10+ different bin+cue files for psx games on my hdd, which i ripped myself. What with ps1 emulators running better and faster than the consoles, and all.

Except playing on an emulator. For psx games at least, emulators are better in pretty much better in every way. It's more convenient (no digging around for disks/consoles, tiny memory card save limitations, etc), looks better, no silly restrictions on when/where you can save, you can play at 2x+ speed for boring shit like running across the world, or grinding, etc, etc.

I don't really see why you can't do that with an emulator.

Is connecting a laptop up to a tv, and turning the lights on really that hard?
