  • Play PSX Games not bootable from Multiman

If you hadn't noticed, some PSX games don't appear in Multiman's XMMB and are marked as data discs and will not boot. If you load this (Breaker Pro Loader) up from the XMMB and then select the main option in the loader, you will be prompted to eject the Breaker Pro Loader disc and to insert your PSX backup. After you put the PSX backup of your choice into your PS3, press any button on the controller and voila! The game which wouldn't boot before and wasn't even being detected by Multiman, will now boot perfectly. Also save files will work with this method as well...just make sure (if using with the ps3) that you create the virtual memory cards prior to booting up Multiman.

Thanks to devil6621 for the article.

Deank if you read this please setup multiman so it can also play psx games from dvd-r if you can because then we could make multi psx discs so we dont have to have just 1 game on a disc thank you.

I have a PSX=BIN+CUE ... Now that I have those 2 ...what is the next step? I tried converting the BIN to ISO then burned it to a CD-r...when I load it via MM I get a Black screen? Can someone please help? & tell me what are the best programs to get my PSX games working? what am I doing wrong? what should I be doing? As for Breaker Pro Loader ...not sure where to get it - I search Google + Pirate bay + E bay and it's nowhere to be found? So if anyone can PM me the link it would be much appreciated Dean Thanks for your awesome work with MM! I really hope that someday will be able just to load everything from an EXT. HDD. Thanks p.s. sorry for sounding like such a noob I'm sure I'm not the only one having problems thanks in advance!

Yeah not sure why you would convert a bin file to iso and then burn it, when you just burn a bin file straight on to a disc anyway. Why would wherever you downloaded the files from, provide them in a format that you can't burn but have to convert first? It is common sense.

RazorX - Thank for your response. Can you suggest a good burning program? & when I'm prompted to enter "SELECT FILE" DO I choose .bin or .cue up until now I've only chosen .bin because DvD Decrypter for example automatically chooses just the .bin not .cue?

multiman was updated to fix this already. Even if it doesn't show up in the menu(which it should), memory card will work. Isn't deank a beast XD.

ImgBurn works good and it's free.

You guys should give proper credits ... I posted this at PS3Hax two days ago...

PS3Hax Network - Playstation 3 Hacks and Mods - View Single Post - multiMAN - multifunctional tool for your PS3 (Game and File manager/FTP/AVCHD/BDMV)

      OK, guys check this out...

      - I burned Breaker Pro (PS1 Disc Loader + Cheat Disc) (this is very old xD)
      - Loaded with latest multiMAN from XMMB (Kmeaw FW)
      - Selected main option in Breaker Pro Loader
      - Ejected Disc as instructed by Breaker Pro
      - Inserted Final Fantasy VIII Backup CD-R (This one is always detected as Data Disc on XBM and multiMAN)
      - Pressed a button to continue with loading
      - Success! Final Fantasy VIII was loaded using multiMAN + Breaker Pro

Have not tested Memory Cards yet

EDIT: Memory Card works if you already created and configured it at XMB section, if you try to set it up while using multiMAN feature then the PS3 will freeze. I just loaded a FFVIII save I had without problems. Btw, the video smooth configuration is not being loaded as well, I have to set it up when the game is loaded.

      SeeYa!

Do note that typing in fonts is not good, you have to type in basic back fonts to make it easier to read.

BIN and CUE files are image formats used by the PSX system, they can also be burnt to disc. Look up a tutorial or two.

pardon me, but it is only a standard raw image format. it is not used only for ps1. the format for ps1 is cdrom-xa (data+audio) as i can remember. in fact this cue file is only an indexing file which tells the burner where to start and end. on some games there are digital audio which are also indexed by this cuesheet.
