Awesome. This is the tool that I used to make my own packages, surprised to see it updated. It is very easy to use and thank for the updated release.

Is this basically the same as the MagicPKG program that came out? Can I take a PS3 game that is supposed to be run via Multiman, and make it into a PKG, install, copy game files into the installed Directory and run it via Games section? I did it to Wolfenstien and it works perfectly.

Yes, but I think the magic one is a lil' more advance, but I like PKG Toolkit GUI because of it is simple to use and uses config files to set up your package, I do not know about making a game work without Malitiman by copying the game itself into the installed directory, but it should work. I made an HDD boot package for FFXIII so that I could use cheat, but I used it in conjunction with Maltiman without copying the game to the installed directory and it works well. If I do not want to cheat, I could launch from app_home without the need to delete the installed package or restore the untouched eboot.bin.

I get this at the end

Notice: raw data is NOT protected by DRM.
please use NPDRM EDATA if you need to protect.

what do I need to do or do I do nothing?

      Thanks

@GTAV90 This tool is for creating a SELF file or EBOOT.BIN from an ELF, among other things. And by the way this is $n!pR tool, not mine.

I get "ERROR could not process EBOOT.BIN" The EBOOT is from the USA version of the Jak and Daxter Collection.

EDIT: Figured out the problem. You have to use the PS3 to rip the game first so it decrypts everything so it can used processed on the computer.

I always see these PKG things but I honestly do not understand what they are and what use they have. No matter what I read about them, I don't understand.

What is the point of decrypting an EBOOT.bin?
What can you use to make a .pkg?
      What is a SELF file?
What is the benefit of this program and the benefit of creating a PKG?
What is able to be in a PKG?
What do you do with a decrypted EBOOT.bin?

There is far too much information thrown out in the PS3 scene when it comes to programs and the terms used without any description of what its actual use is in average terms. I see things that if you just jumped on this page, no one would understand.

Could someone give me a brief, simple description of this? How will this benefit us? Thank you.

What is the point of decrypting an EBOOT.bin?
      - To Gain access to how it's signed. (Whether for newer or older firmware to run)

What can you use to make a .pkg?
      - Make_pkg Command Line Tool by D0zs is by far the best
      make_pkg.rar

What is the benefit of this program and the benefit of creating a PKG?
      - To open a pkg, decrypt the Eboot and rebuild the pkg.
Creating a PKG makes it easier for user to install it from package manager rather than handing out EBOOT.bin and param.sfo and lettting them FTP (Which alot of people don't know how to do)

What is able to be in a PKG?
      - A Param.sfo (Basically the id), A Working (running) Eboot.bin (The brain)

What do you do with a decrypted EBOOT.bin?
      - Resign it to lower firmwares

      What is a SELF file?
      - An Executable similar to an .EXE in Windows.

That was perfect. Thank you very much, MateoGodlike. Now things are making sense as I read them.

EDIT: Actually, one more question... where do you get or find a .ELF file? I have never seen an EBOOT.ELF, only EBOOT.BIN. Do you have to create it somehow?

There is something wrong with the 1.50 version as it doesn't create proper installable packages for some reason so I have switched back to the 1.40 version.
