yes your other backups should be fine but the new tb games which require a patch you will only be able to use with tb but i did send an email to cobra and they said that they are working on getting 3.6 games 2 work

Weather the TB is a part of the scene or not, nobody forces you to buy the damn dongle. They simply provided a way to play newer games. Period.
yes and when i say people are to cheap and ungratefull, well look how the trash the dongle. Again, nobody forces you to buy the dongle, no one has put a gun to your face and said, buy it or i will shoot, come on. When i see how people whine and cry as soon something isnt free, well pathetic.

Look at the xbox scene. Flashing the drive isn't something anybody can do, or jtaggin, or dumping the RGH, but there are stores/console shops that provide such operation, and u dont see anybody crying or one single drama. They simply choose to pay a small amount of money, so they in the longer term can play 100, probably 1000 new games for free. TB is exactly the same, u pay a small amount of money so u can save in the longer term. Exactly the same when modchips came for the ps2. Not everybody was able to install it, so they paid professionals to do it, so they again could save money.
But here, god forbid if you spend more than a dime, or lets say it isnt free.

So yes i think i can allow myself to say, the ps3 scene is a joke, where everybody thinks they are magically owed a way to play piracy games for free.
And please for god sake dont come with that expression, that people want to rip there original legit bought games and not everybody is here for piracy.

it boils down to the haves and the have-nots. The people who have one saw what it can do (right or wrong), decided they wanted it, and bought it. Then there are those that saw what it can do (right or wrong), decided they wanted it - but wanted it for free and have no other option but to complain about it's morality or that it's not included in free custom firmware. Either buy it or don't - that's all. Nobody's making you buy it and nobody made you install custom firmware. People forget why they installed custom firmware to start with. It's not about piracy - It's about free choice to do whatever you want with a piece of hardware that you purchased. End of story

unlike most people here, i neither hate nor like tb. i am kinda in the middle.
the new games dont interest me... and its been like that since 360 and ps3.
come to think of it, it's very very hard for me to have an interest in any ps3 game, even without the new ones, im happy. mostly the console is used for the homebrew or old emulator and whatnot type dealios.
in my opinion what gamers want nowadays has ruined games. possibly forever.
the cobra seemed like a better bet. and im perfectly happy not even thinking about any title on this list.
i wanted to hit up a tb, for the simple fact that my ocd needs everything to do with anything game related that i can get my hands on.
i think before i bother with ordering one, i wanna send this 80gb for an exchange and get a ps3 that plays ps2 games properly. possibly sell my 40gb, and then maybe get a tb just to say i have one and watch it collect dust. lol.

People who do homebrew have enough sense to either save up, or got their own income to buy a second console - If not a developer kit.

I can wait 2 months to get my legal ps3 money-stealing-console working, instead of paying LESS to get games for free).

lol because using a computer to play emulators is so awesome? i played snes on pc until i could play it on ps2, i played it on wii until i could play it on ps3.
now that i finally have a pretty good working snes emulator with a decent wireless controller (ps3 controller) you might as well just call my ps3 a snes. (wii classics dpad= good luck performing a fatality on umk 3 theres no definitive up or down, its like a joystick)
sure its fun to use ps1 games on it... but im not kidding when i say its better for homebrew than for those games that people seem to want soo bad. this is, of course, my opinion.

plus you assume everyone wants to sit around and play garbage ps3 games online... i could really care less about the online experience on any game system, pc, handheld, so on and so forth.

TB and the ones who support it are the entire reason the scene is in the state it is. If everything was shared and not done for profit the scene would be a lot further than it is now. Think of what more things can be done if more developers got a hole of the dongle's codes.

@krytonic - actually I agree with you 99.99999% - everything except what the scene is about. I think it's about doing whatever you want with something you've paid for. To be honest, I probably never would have touched mine if OtherOS wasn't removed because I wanted linux for emulator support so I could still play some "classic" games without busting out the old NES and spending 10 minutes blowing into the cartridge and trying to position it just-so for it to play. I would have been happy with that. I never modded my original XBox or PS2 until at least a year after the 360/PS3 came out. Also I have said many times I will never buy a TB dongle because it's sole purpose is stealing from game designers. It has no other use. Despite what people may thinik of Sony and their practices, if game designers aren't supported by people buying their games, then there will be a massive drop in the quantity of quality releases that are made. I buy just about every Squaresoft game that comes out because I like what they produce. Yes I can just get a "backup", but I would hate to see them stop producing Final Fantasy games and a few others. My earlier post was in no way defending either side of the argument - I was just trying to point out why some/most people were bitching about it on either side

Customfirmware/ modified firmware/hacks has always and will always be for piracy. We want customfirmware so we can play games for free.
