I bet the
Bluedisk team did not expect this. A firmware update by Sony after the release of their controversial "custom firmware." Official firmware 4.30 will be released tomorrow bringing changes to the way trophies are handled. Good news for PS Vita owners. Also noted is the retirement of services such as folding@home through the Life With PlayStation application and a thank you to the fifteen million PS3 users who participated in a good cause. With that said, I'm sure many are not to worried about the release of OFW4.30, but rather what support the Bluedisk team will provide after the newer firmware is released.
About PS3 System Software Update - v4.30:
October 23rd, we will be releasing a new system software update for PlayStation 3 (version 4.30). With this update we have made several changes to how Trophies are displayed on your PlayStation 3. The Trophy Collection will now reside under PlayStation Network on the XMB. Trophies that you have earned playing PlayStation Vita games are now displayed on your PlayStation 3. You will also be able to see your Trophy level and progress towards the next level while viewing your trophy collection.
By the beginning of
November 2012, we will retire the services available through the
Life with PlayStation application. In conjunction with its retirement, we will stop offering the Life with PlayStation application to new users with the 4.30 update. This includes the conclusion of our participation with Stanford University’s
Folding@home.
So... After reading many sources, which includes
ps3devwiki &
naehrwert. The Bluedisk "custom firmware" is based on a 4.21 coreOS and by replacing the aim_spu_module.self from official firmware 4.25 you can bypass the need for the reDRM EID0 method.
I'm no developer, for the PS3 scene, but I will urge you members to hold out and wait until we all have a CFW that will meet all our needs. It might just be me, but I would prefer a trusted developer release. Just my opinion...
