New Sony TOS and Privacy Policy, again?!!?

Sony is back with another TOS and Privacy Policy, and this time they want your SOUL!. Other new updates, Sony Network Entertainment America Inc. (SNEA) is now transferring all accounts to Sony Network Entertainment International LLC (SNEI), Qriocity has turned into Sony Entertainment Network (SEN), and purchases have turned into "licenses."

I was a Sony FanBoy, and all I got was this lousy t-shirt!

Here is the email.

A new addition called BINDING INDIVIDUAL ARBITRATION has also arrived, and to quote a tweet from KaKaRoToKs :

"Section 15 (page 17) is a class action waiver and a "I will never sue sony" clause AND it's binding FOR LIFE!?!?!?!"

Basically agreeing not to sue them in any future class action lawsuits. Real classy guys

Just a quick heads up for those of you not familiar with the legal systems out there.This new TOS still won't affect your basic consumer and statutory rights, so whether this clause gets implemented into the EU/UK, it still won't really mean jack.I honestly can't comment on the US (of which this particular TOS change takes effect) as I am not familiar with US law, but I would imagine the US has similar acts in place to stop companies like Sony from screwing its users too much.

May be picking but just remember if an update gives you a brick and they say no their is nothing you supposedly can do about with the new TOS

Using a second ps3 is not a solution.The instant you get onto PSN, the new agreement is binding for the remainder of your lifetime, no matter how many other PS3s you get.Yes, they don't even know if it will hold in court, but they are darn well trying.

This is simple people. Accepting the new ToS does not lock you out of starting/joining a class action suit against $ony and here is why. Anyone familiar with the law (here in the US, that is) knows that no minor can enter into a legally binding contract of any kind, so if you ever need to, you could claim a minor child accepted the agreement to play your console. Do not worry.

Not a bad idea, but you're forgetting you need to be major to make a PSN account. If you are minor, you can only create a sub-account from a major's account.
