  • A New & Improved ProgSkeet Coming

The developers behind ProgSkeet have announced a new version of their hardware flasher. Expected release is October and will incorporate the use of Quick Start/Solder Boards rather than using clips. Also added is dual NAND/NOR support.

    About :
PROGSKEET V1.2 is in production, release: first week of October (maybe early)

    Package contents:
    1x PROGSKEET V1.2 + SLAVE BOARD
    1x ADAPTOR PCB PROGSKEET

    Here is some info:
    • Redesign of main board, now more small and stable (4 layers)
    • Slave board with USB, LED, SWITCH (for memory banks selection)
    • FCC cable 15 pins that allows to connect external slave board
    • Bus SPI on FCC cable for future expansions
    • 100% support of WINSKEET
    • DLL OPEN library to allow integration in other alternative programs
    • 1 Mbit SPI FLASH memory on board

The main improvement of the new PROGSKEET V1.2 solution will be the support of DUAL NOR/NAND on different consoles. NOR and NAND CLIPS are not officially supported anymore, we decide to move on to QSB BOARDS, which are more cheaper and more stable than CLIPS. News also about these accessories soon.

you can downgrade OFW from 4.26 to 3.55 in order to jailbreak and install CFW to play pirate games + you can have 2 Firmwares 1 offical firmware to play and access PSN and second FW for 3.55 CFW to play back up games

QSB is good and cheap but, in PS3 with numerous MoBo NAND/NOR points on all 15 mobo revision and version, I really cant tell much, clips are way better for installation.

Am I right in thinking this still requires soldering skills?

The short answer is no. You can only go to 3.6x as the lowest firmware as that is the factory firmware that was installed on it and it cannot go any lower.

if you try this with these you will end up with RLOD

      CECH-25xx (JTP-001) with 3.56 from factory
      CECH-25xx (JSD-001) with 3.60 from factory
      CECH-25xx (JTP-001) with 3.60 from factory
      CECH-30xx (KTE-001) with 3.65 from factory
CECH-40xx Will end up RLOD like all the others.

Hope this helps you not to brick your console.

It will still require you to solder but the qsb boards will make the job a lot easier than trying to use wire.

we still can't downgrade to 3.60 given we already have the keys?? or thats just the keys for the games???

I have both an E3 flasher and a progskeet so I have experience with both. With the E3 I can flash nor PS3s and have dual boot with a nor ps3 that's all. With the progskeet I can flash wiis, 360s, nand and nor ps3s and have dual nands. So I guess what I'm saying is the E3 couldn't compare with the old progskeet and the 1.2 is going to be even better.

and which and where NAND PS3 motherboard has suitable points for Quick-Solder-Boards to fit?! that's not like Xbox360 motherboard where there are points even people without any soldering skills to solder Quick-Solder-Boards. does Progskeet team suggest to solder Quick-Solder-Boards directly over the NAND chip - the only possible place i see?! that's ridiculous and huge step backward - i don't understand and demand for more details - otherwise i won't even bother to wait them to release their new product.

A QSB directly on the nand would still be better than wires and wouldn't be a new thing it's been being done on the 360 for years.

that's too risky and hard to be done by not experienced person - i for one won't buy such product and i'm sure i'm not alone in such opinion!! so, it seems Progskeet team are trying to even further narrow down their already narrowed down market by solution like E3, which are easy to use.

It didn't say the clips wouldn't work they just aren't going to be officially supported and progskeet isn't going to lose any of the nand customers to E3 because the E3 can't do nands. Installing an E3 can be a real pain in the bum, clips are crap I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that would say so.

It's hard to believe that this new Progskeet will support dual booting on NAND console, I would probably need to wait and see if someone else confirms this.
The previous Progskeet was claimed to be able to do this, and found out by the live support that it does not even support their own NAND add on board for PS3, and thus dual boot is not supported.
So again it is really is hard for me to believe this, I call it a marketing hype for now until confirmed by someone whom actually used this on their NAND console.
BTW, the launch day Wiis supported dual booting long before Progskeet came into existence, at least unofficially.

but Infectus can do them and if it's about any soldering to the motherboard or the NANDs then i don't see why not to buy currently 2 times cheaper Infectus than the current version of progskeet. so, if progskeet does not improve in features i don't see them as competitive product.

Its difficult to find Infectus anymore you dumb ****. So STFU! People are waiting for so long for an easy solution to downgrade their NAND PS3's. Dont buy it if you dont want. I am going to buy it. I cant just solder Infectus etc on tiny nand points because you need skills and expensive equipment which costs me lots. This is supposed to be a lot of easier.

yeah, saying out loud the unconvincing truth for progskeet must hurt the feelings of some people like you! and once again there are cheaper than progskeet and same convenient ways to do the same task, as i already mentioned. progskeet team already lied once about dual boot and their existing product and they just continue in the same direction.
