Naima’s Releases Custom Firmware v3.55/3.60 Hybrid - PSN Play Ready

Last month, we first reported on Naima's custom firmware, which helped allow users to get onto the PSN. Now, he's followed up his original release with a brand new take on custom firmware. Upon installing the CFW, users will be allowed onto the PSN, without the need of any tricks. New to this release is the addition of files from the 3.60 official firmware.

Update: Pre-patched version of Naima’s Custom Firmware v3.55/3.60 Hybrid now available for download. Just download and install onto PS3. Simple huh?

TUTORIAL
Requirements:
(Only need these if you are patching your own)
* Naima's Custom Firmware v3.55/v3.60 Patch (see download below)
* CFW Patcher v1.0.8r3 (download here)
* Official Firmware v3.55 (download here)

Quick Tutorial:
1) Download all 3 files (see requirements)
2) Run CFW Patcher v1.0.8r3 on your PC
3) In CFW Patcher v1.0.8r3, select Naima's patch file, official firmware v3.55, and the location of where you want to store the newly patched custom firmware v3.55
4) Install on your PS3

rough translation (logic-sunrise):
The big news is the addition of files from the official firmware 3.60. In addition, a file CA27.cer F*ckPSN modified to Charles and is already included. In the characteristics of this CFW, Naima has included the necessary but not least sufficient to ensure stability:

- Support for Peek / Poke Fluke
- Added "Install Package Files"
- Support Pkg signed or unsigned
- Replacement of certificate CA27.cer
- Maximum stability and cleanliness in all the changes.

Naima chose to replace the 27 certificate because it is obsolete. He further reported that the certificate 24 was used by some games. Replace the certificate 24 could therefore have undesirable side effects. In addition, you will notice that he has chosen to delete app_home/PS3_Game for security measures, saying that playing without disc is more risky for online play.

Coment install cfw:
- Beginnings official firmware is ideal,
- Check the integrity of the original PS3UPDAT.PUP, it should be:

MD5: CA595AD9F3AF8F1491D9C9B6921A8C61

SHA1: a3a0d1c61e17c6a58a5fa247a3dbb51524329e0a

- Check the integrity of the "PS3UPDAT.PUP custom", it should be:

MD5: 2C608AA99772E625BF708908AB6AF9DF

SHA1: c9db35a8d45c7d5286d581e87bb647ae4aa1e1b7

- Perform the installation from the Recovery Mode

Before the questions arise, you have to be on 3.55, this isn't a 3.60 CFW.

This looks to be very promising. But I do believe that I'm going to lay low for a bit and see how things pan out. And I would also like to mention that its nice to see MD5 and SHA1 hashes for the important stuff. Nothing new...I know, just very reassuring! And now I wait...

There was another topic in the Member's Section way before this one was posted from the link posted from the original topic... which is here:

It actually stemmed from a video that was on YT (which that account has been deleted)...but the video can be found here:

It even tells you that it is a patched hybrid, it's not a full 3.60 CFW...so maybe you should read first instead of being a bandwagon jumper!

Edit: What I'm going to laugh about is if it shows you're on 3.60 and you want to remove it, it gives you the message, "You have the latest firmware"...especially if there's bugs or something was missed!

...when you're stuck and can't do anything because things fall apart, you either have one of two choices...wait till they fix things or upgrade to 3.60 and hopes that there's a CFW or downgrade made.

Obviously you missed the link I posted where this all stemmed from. He/she knows that already...that's just confirmation that it doesn't for anyone who posses that question.

People please read the whole post, this is not a 3.60 CFW. It has some files from 3.60 OFW that is it, do not try and install on 3.60.

You're either brave or stupid....either way, once it's installed, check to see if you can revert back to either ofw 3.55, gh 3.55, or kmeaw 3.55 (if you were on either one of those). Would be interesting to see and know what all parts it's saying is 3.60 (other than the ones that it listed).

i was at kmeaw 3.55, then went to 3.55 OFW then to this...there is only the choice to install pkg files...no gaming...then when i try to get online it says that i cant use someone elses account...WTF? it shows 3.60 and i can install pkg files...dammit

WHOA!!! Check to see if you can install 3.55 ofw then back to kmeaw...if you can't then this is a problem and things like this shouldn't be reported on any site as possible!

If you can't go back, I'm sorry you got the proverbial sh*t end of the stick.

Just so people know...

this isn't actually harmful on 3.60 anyway. But it won't work regardless. I just got a corrupted file or whatever and when installing from XMB it said no applicible update data.
