Does Dean, author of multiMAN, ever sleep? Based on the amount of feature rich updates he brings to his manager, it's seeming inevitable that Dean has his share of late night work sessions. Today, he brings us yet another update, which brings the latest multiMAN version to v2.00.05. The new release mostly improves XMMB mode and memory management, with the latter allowing the app to run smoother and quicker.

In addition to these new updates, Dean has also announced he will no longer be releasing "BASE" versions of multiMAN. Instead, users will be forced to download "FULL" versions or use the built in updater from within multiMAN.

Furthermore, he has announced some unfortunate news for those of you who are not using Kmeaw CFW. From this day forward, he will no longer be releasing separate multiMAN releases that are compatible with Waninkoko CFW and WutangRZA CFW. If you use either of these firmwares you will be forced to run "package_finalize" on multiMAN's installer in order to make it compatible with your firmware. However, if you utilize online updates from within multiMAN, these updates will still be compatible and won't need any tweaking.

* Changed: Coverflow mode completely rewritten to use XMMB engine
* Changed: Coverflow shows covers in perspective
* Changed: Better memory management
* Changed: XMMB display mode visualization
* Changed: Caching only of Photo, Music and Retro XMMB columns with their actual size (faster boot and exit/restart) (16MB HDD space freed)
* Added: Option in XMMB Settings column “XMMB Game Icon Swap” to select mode for covers/icons for Game column
* Added: Options in XMMB Settings column “Key Repeat Delay” and “Key Repeat Speed”
* Added: Launch .zip ROMs from File Manager (from emulator folders or dev_hdd0 or dev_usb00* ./ROMS/[emulator])
* Added: Support for FBA Next emulator (port mods by squarepusher2)
* Fixed: PPU crashreport about MultiStream on exit (thanks to an0nymous for the backtrace log)
* Fixed: Minor issues when applying themes
* Fixed: Minor issues/garbage with boot screen on rare occasions
* Removed: Use of virtual memory

MP3/Audio related:
* Changed: MP3 playback requires 384KB of RAM (was 24MB before) and now MP3 file size is unlimited (4MB ram freed)
* Added: Fade-in / fade-out for mp3 playback
* Added: Indication of which mp3 title is currently playing/paused in XMMB mode
* Added: multiMAN mp3 playback will pause if you play music from PS3 XMB Music column
Extended support for BD Remote Controller:
* BD Remote: [ENTER] and [PLAY] keys will act as [X] (much easier to navigate)
* BD Remote: [PAUSE] will pause music playback
* BD Remote: [PREV]/[NEXT] will skip to previous/next audio track
* BD Remote: [STOP] will stop music playback

Wow I am glad I switched last week, and to "ethical ricardo" All emulators, applications and multiMAN are compatible with FW 3.41 and 3.55 KMEAW/REBUGRead more: http://www.mateogodlike.com/#ixzz1PVmbiixdSeems like KMEAW has officially taken the CFW tittle

Not even sure what version I am on right now. I'm a few versions behind but not way back. About to fire up the PS3 and do an update now. I am glad to see Dean concentrating his efforts into only one version. That will allow more time for him to improve the manager with better things per revision. Now I'm off to do the update.

Emulators, media player, file manager, and back-up manager. The most updated homebrew there it. It dont get any better than this. Dean for President.

Kmeaw is the Best CFW
but about rebug....it allows you full control (almost) over your ps3 and you'll also be able to develop debug apps

and i love that red psn icon
And it seems to me that most of the new stuff coming out have somthing to do with rebug

Anyone know why the hdd and usb icon has dissapeared from the bottom corner of the games list when using the media cabinet on multiman?have searched everywhere for an answer but to no avail.

I think that would be difficult.. Possibly could be done.

Its similar to MP3Player Plugin for PSP.

HOLY CRAP!! You're right he should!! Someone should contact him about this!! This would be the best thing ever!!.

Oh, what wouldn't I give to have "Welcome to The Jungle" or "Smoke on the Water" play in the Background while having an epic boss battle with the Flamelurker in Demon's Souls.... Heaven indeed, mhm hm, yessir!!.

I don't see why PS3-Mame should be added if FBANext already supports most MAME Titles.. But I sure do like MAME/FBANext. I have so many roms that Multiman can't show them all.

For those of you who don't know about this function, on some games that require, let's say special attention... when running Multiman boot-fix the R3 button when pressed on the desired games PS3_GAME folder in File Manager Mode emulates it some how (I really don't know If it act's as an emulator for as a BD, I am by far no expert). Like I said before this is generally used with the Multiman Boot-fix tool but I have found some use for it getting some other games to work too. When 3.55 game's where not running it had it's merit.

One thing is that FBANEXT Can't detect Midway roms and some others.
When Mame do get to that right place,
or we still going 2 need FBANEXT???
I know mame can read all roms.
Way more then FBANEXT but
At this time for the ps3 FBANEXT rock's but on any computer MAME rock's lol........
