  • [Update] multiMAN 04.19.00 -- Adds PS1 ISO/BIN Support

    Update: v04.19.01 released. Adds support to Multi-Disk games. Also updated multiMAN Showtime builds released.

    Deank has updated multiMAN to version 04.19.00. In this update following the work of Estwald from IrisManager, Deank has added PS1 ISO support to multiMAN (single-disc) without a Cobra Dongle. ISO/BIN backups are said to have less compatibility then the CD-R backups method that has been featured in multiMAN for some time. PS1(PSX) games will appear in the RETRO column of multiMAN and should be placed in the (/PSXISO /PSXGAMES folders). Memory Cards are stored in the same folder as games. Covers (png and jpgs) are supported. For more informational checkout the complete change log below for v04.19.00/04.19.01.

    Change Log 04.19.01

    multiMAN 04.19.00/01 is now available online for CEX/DEX/STEALTH:

    * Added initial support for single-disc PS1 ISO/BIN backups (/PSXISO /PSXGAMES folders)
    * PS1 ISO/BIN backups will show in the RETRO column
    * PS1 ISO/BIN backups compatibility is much lower than burned PS1 CD backups

    * Added support for multi-disc PS1 backups (in 04.19.01)
    * Updated Showtime for mM and standalone to 04.01.451

    * Credits for the PS1 EMU patches go solely to Estwald/Hermes

    ======================

    Memory cards are stored per game in the same folder as the game. Covers can be named as the iso/bin with .jpg (3264x3264 max) or .png (416x414 max) extension (or as COVER.JPG (3264x3264 max) when using PSXGAMES folder with game-name subfolder).

    Don't forget that pressing [SQUARE] in the RETRO column groups content (emulator ROMS, PS1/PS2/PSP).

      As for all retro roms/iso/cso mM expects:

      in PSXISO/PSXGAMES folders:

      My_Game_bla_bla.iso
      My_Game_bla_bla.jpg
      or
      My_Game_bla_bla.png

      If using IRIS path-format (one game per folder) than

      /PSXGAMES/My_Game
      /PSXGAMES/My_Game/Name_of_game.ISO
      /PSXGAMES/My_Game/Name_of_game.jpg
      or
      /PSXGAMES/My_Game/COVER.JPG

      If you rip a PS1 game from disc with mM it will probably find the cover for you (if you have FULL version of internet connection).

      my bad. that's almost better than just doing cover.jpg.

      i don't care much for covers luckily since well, there are names and i don't have a bunch backed up yet.

      Thanks Deank this works great...

      I converted all my MDF psx games to bin/cue using a free utility (took less than a minute per game).

      I used a prog called AnytoISO Lite - just in case anyone else having same problem as me.

      Only 1 game failed out of the 15 or so i tried (Actua Golf)

      Happy days!

      MDF is supported in the latest online debug update from yesterday (when you start mM while holding L2+R2 to update) along with the "Create ISO" for PS1 discs.

      I tried to rip a legitimate PSX game from mM last night and it said that feature is only available to Cobra users. IS this true, or is there another version I should be using?

      oh man, that's helpful!

      i used the same program steveola used and it kept messing up and the bin/cue for the game i wanna play separates into parts but i can get two clean files that are mdf/mds.

      keep up the great updates deank, i know you'll bring the compatibility to just about the same as a disc

      okay, so, the game in mdf/mds shows up under a folder under psx roms but when i play it, it boots to retroarch.

      i mean, i've updated to .01 both ways, with and without debug mode. so, idk what i did wrong, i mean both the files had the retro icon which i thought was weird instead of a black disc.

      i just made sure i had "create iso" with a psx disc and went all the up to actually creating it, so i think i'm on the right update.

      Is there anyway to possibly not show multiple files within folder of the BIN/CUE files? My games are showing up the Retro section but they show up with the entire bin and cue files. However, picking one of the single tracks seem to load the games for me just fine.

      What size do the psx covers have to be? I've got some 240x240 but they dont work.

      i keep reading max size is 1024x768.

      check out dean's post on how to put them in the folder. psxgames has it like the name of the game, psxiso, you put it in the folder named cover.jpg.

      that could be backwards.

      @deank, have you checked out Iris 1.54? They did something pretty clever in the way to now launch the CHEATS application. Hopefully you can also do your magic on it.

      With this ability, the CHEATS folder can be Internal HDD and your PSX GAMES on external HDD and they will still work when doing the unplugging/plugging ritual when going to the next game in the sequence.

      Plus with the CHEATS folder setup, we no longer need to PASTE LINKS since when we try to run a game in IRIS, it will say if we want to launch the CHEATS folder first. So whatever BIN you put in that CHEATS folder IRIS will prompt you if you want to run it first.

      More details about this is in my tutorial (TIP 4): http://psx-scene.com/forums/f10/iris...e-list-110430/

      Fixed. Just adding a .jpg cover to the folder auto-categorizes all files into one neat package. God I haven't played Die Hard Trilogy in years.

      just to make sure, to switch disks in the same folder, unplug and replug your hard drive?

      now, how would you start at disk 2? right as you boot the game, just unplug and replug the drive or wait for it to load or does a game need to prompt you to insert disk 2 for it to happen? what if you need to boot to disk 3?

      btw, i think i will rarely, if ever come across this problem. i was determined to get to a disk 2 in a game, but just never did; got distracted and kept moving on to different games.

      @JOshISPoser,
      1. When a game asks you to load Disc 2, you simply unplug all USB devices connected to the PS3.
      2. The green LED on the power button will turn off,
      3. press whatever button it indicates in the game to launch the next disc.
      4. Then quickly plug back in USB device and it should then load the next disc in sequence for the game as well as turn back on the green LED on your the power button.

      so, you can't start from like disk 2 in say grandia?

      oh, and my mdf/mds problem was solved. i guess you really gotta play the games displayed in the retro column cause it didn't want to boot from the hd viewer; same went for another bin/cue game, it didn't want to boot it except when i booted it in the retro column. so is life.

      I think the issue is that disk1 will load the game save. I don't know if disk2 will do that. You will have to test this. And if you find anything, please report your tests in the PSX Compatibility thread. http://psx-scene.com/forums/f10/iris...e-list-110430/

      lolz, it'll be a long while before i can test that.

      i'm pretty bad at games.

      i generally stick to one disk games cause, well, i rarely ever beat games
