      Hello Deank,

First of all I apreciate your concern about the backup manager MultiMan, it's the best so thanks man, but now I have a problem with multiman, I have a 2 tb ext hard drive with 3 partitions:
      one with 1tb NTFS partition
and the other two with 500gb FAT32 partitions. (both with backups)

The problem is that multiman is just detecting one of the FAT32 partitions, the third one.
and I would like multiman to recognize the second FAT32 partition, but I don't know how to do it.

So I want to know if you can fix this with a new update in multiman that can be able to detect more than one fat32 partition in the same external hard drive because I don't want to format the two fat32 partitions due lack of space. If that's possible it will help me with my issue.

      Thanks in advance.

It is not possible. Your drive must be NTFS, NTFS+FAT, FAT+NTFS, FAT.

p.s. multiMAN 04.18.00 is now out.

It happened again. I loaded a DVD ISO in mmOS. Showtime played it. When I existed Showtime to return to multiMAN. I get a black screen with the HDD info at the bottom normally what displays on the 4x2 display. I can't do anything at this point. I have to either turn off the ps3 or use the FTP exit command.

Once I exit multiMAN with the FTP exit command, and try to open multiMAN again. I get the same black screen with HDD info at the bottom (4x2) display. My only workaround now is to reinstall multiMAN last update [multiMAN UPD (20121231) 04.17.05 R4.pkg], to see if it will hopefully fix this issue.

I wonder if the issue is between Showtime and multiMAN? Maybe it corrupts something?

I know I have the latest version of Showtime, since I don't get any messages saying it requires an update.

      Still on Kmeaw 3.55 CEX.

P.S. The DVD ISO is a PAL movie, perhaps this is the issue?

Okay my workaround isn't working anymore. Still black screen with HDD info at the bottom.

I tried debug mode and though in debug mode, still I can't see anything.. just HDD info at the bottom.

Now I plan to try 04.18.00 version. Fingers crossed!

Is it happening only when you try to play that ISO or with any video file? I can't think of anything that may cause your issue.

The first time this happened was with another DVDISO which was on the Internal HDD. And that one was NTSC. I don't always use DVDISOs, so perhaps this is why I've never encountered this issue before. Perhaps others don't use DVDISO that much, and haven't found this weird bug.

I was able to fix this issue by installing 04.17.00 base. Once it's default theme kicked in, it was fine. After that, I installed 04.17.05 R4 and then 04.18.00 (correct version).

I deleted the DVDIso, so I can't test this again. I'll let you know once this happens again. It's very weird.

Can you tell me what I can do to quickly solve this without having to resort of installing past base versions of multiMAN? Maybe there is a file I can edit via FTP. At least I can still make the connection with multiMAN when it's just frozen in black screen with only the HDD info displaying at the bottom in the 2x4 display.

I noticed that under multiman's USRDIR, I had RELOAD.SELF file. I think it's not suppose to be there? Not sure? I think that should only exist for DEX systems? This is why I asked for a list in the 04.18.00 thread.

RELOAD.SELF is auto-created by mM so it should be there.

I'm compiling a new showtime, which should probably fix the issue. Currently showtime starts mM with a lower priority than mM is expected to run at and it may confuse it. Other than that I can't think of anything else. Do you by any chance extract files in the USRDIR/TEMP folder of mm?

Damn! I deleted it! Will it self regenerate, or do I need to do something to help it?

Very cool. I think the issue may be between Showtime and multiMAN, because that caused the issue from the very start. I haven't had a chance to play with Showtime today.. I plan to do so in a few hours from now. I've been busy with other things.

No, I don't think so. I really don't know much about that folder.

I updated showtime for mM to 4.1.368. You can try with it.

Please don't laugh at me! I downloaded the update via multiMAN. I spent 20 minutes looking for the pkg to install--sometimes I see that pkgs now get put in a folder named PKG in dev_hdd0. I forgot that the download just replaces the SHOWTIME.SELF in USRDIR/sys. -- I think I am long overdue for a vacation!!

On the subject over the dev_hdd0/PKG folder. I find it odd that when I go to the XMB this new download folder doesn't show up when I want to install pkgs on kmeaw 3.55. I always seem to have to do a bit of clicks here and there to load those. I used to like it when it was copied to the root of my USB HDD. Is there a setting to adjust this? Or is this now the norm?

Hahahaha!!! Sorry, couldn't resist. There is a setting in multiman to install to standard location or PSN bubble location. That's probably what you're looking for

A PSN bubble is a PKG file that doesn't require the Install Packages installer . (like a how a demo or retail PKG would install)

I create PS3_EXTRA folder in some of my backups in order to keep there game updates and also DLC content. I figure this PSN Bubble feature might create an extra icon within the game XMB. My question is will it clash with PS3_EXTRA or will it just create a new icon? Keep in mind that I use Kmeaw 3.55 CFW.

And which of the two folders is the correct folder? I see two now:

      /dev_hdd0/PKG
      /dev_hdd0/packages

      Update:

I enabled Bubble feature. I really don't know where to go to see this installation method.

I did put some sample pkgs in both the folders above, and they do appear in multiMAN/Install Package Files and they both appear there.

I then Queue'd one and it rebooted my PS3 (turn off/on) and I did not see whether it was installed or what? Any instructions?

Update for crying out loud ...

i never messed with many PS3_EXTRA folders so i cant give proper advice there

the bubble feature was developed for rogero 4.30 in mind when there was no Install Package Installer like we are all familer with in all other CFWs (now in rogero that option can be put back, but for a time it was not there) So the bubble featured allowed for you to mount and create the bubble PSN style packages for the XMB. On rogero i believe it would be on by default in multiMAN other CFWs it a choice.

For bubble PKGs to mount you would need it enabled, then on multiMAN you use the Install Package where you find in the first column of the XMMB in multiman.

You asked too many questions and I'm not really sure what you mean.

      1) Showtime update directly replaces SHOWTIME.SELF - so there is no PKG to look for
      2) When you download mM online update it goes to /dev_usb*** if one is connected or it goes to USRDIR/TEMP. Then mM asks you to quit to XMB and you can install it like you always did.
      3) When you download stuff from the WEB column the downloaded files go to /dev_hdd0/packages. You can install the files either from mM's Home->[*Install Package Files] or if you're on REBUG - from XMB->Package installer
      4) On 3.55 you don't really need the "PSN bubble" method. It may come in hand if you have 4+GB split pkg files where this method allows you to join the split parts in one big pkg.

Splendid job Deank, as always. I have 1 question though: is there an easier way to erase all the pgk updates and such when you finished installing them ? like for example, i have resident evil 6, it would download its last update and after installing it, i still see it in "Install package Files" inside MM and sometimes it gets confusing when i have multiple games with multiple updates, so i actually have to go where it is and delete it. Thanks in advance.

I prefer NOT to automate tasks which involve deleting files. I'd rather have the user decide.
