  • multiMAN 04.17.04 Released by Deank

    Deank is back again spreading his holiday joy with another update bringing multiMAN to version 04.17.04. In this update there are improvements related to copying/scanning/verifying/ect, Visual Improvements and the addition of SD/MS/CF entries in Retro Column.

    Deank also made a BARE multiMAN. This is a skinned down (BARE) version of multiMAN you can view the complete changelog below for full details regarding this update and multiMAN BARE.

    multiMAN 04.17.04 update is available online (cex/dex/stealth)

    multiMAN ver 04.17.04 UPD CEX (20121226).pkg (1.76MB)
    Download multiMAN ver 04.17.04 UPD CEX (20121226).pkg

    * Visual improvements
    * Added SD/MS/CF entries in Retro
    * Fade-in for game backgrounds
    * Some other improvements related to copying/scanning/verifying/etc
    * multiMAN "minimal"/"bare" version available (read below)

    =======================================

    Few weeks ago some people requested a 'minimalistic' version of multiMAN. For them I created this package:

    multiMAN ver 04.17.04 BARE CEX (20121226) (only 3.8MB)
    Download multiMAN ver 04.17.04 BARE CEX (20121226).pkg

    This is a skinned down version (BARE). It can be installed on any PS3 without the need of a previous mM installation. It is like a "base" but the differences are:

    * Simple theme (2MB) (no theme music)
    * No GUI translations (English only)
    * No user fonts (only system fonts will be used)
    * No PS1/PS2/PSP names/IDs database (no game names will be displayed)
    * AIOMOD not included (old BD-Mirror method for USB games will be used on 4.21+CFWs)

    Do not use it unless you're the one who asked for it. BARE can be installed on any firmware for normal users who don't really need any of the listed above features. Of course NONE of these features are present in other BUMs so everyone should be happy. It can be installed on top of your current mM if you wish to test it (you will not notice much difference, because you already have the fonts/translations/aiomod/themes installed).

    This bare version is suitable for:

    * English speaking users
    * All 3.41/3.55 (non Cobra/TB) firmwares
    * All 4.21+ firmwares (disc may be required when booting bd-mirror USB games if AIOMOD.BIN is not present)
    * Weeners who complain all the time that 130MB is too much for a stupid PS3 homebrew like mM

      Love the fact it DOESNT have the god awful music in it.. shame about the other stuff tho.. ill continue to use the full version however.. its just annoying the music for some reason is super loud even when everything is is just a whisper.. i literally have to turn off my sound system first boot into mM so i can turn off the music.

      Keep up the great work Deank

      If those people really excists, then plz GTFO.
      mM is the most powerful multifunctional homebrew ever. I use it since the time where other BMs were still an option and we had dongles to jb our 3.41

      For me there is even no commercial program which keeps updated that often AND fulllfill user-wishes. The progress is amazing!!

      I and many other users are sooo happy about your work, deank

      Thank you soo much

      I'm not really sure what happened but since updating mM was the only thing i did, i'm going to ask here. for some reason after i updated mM condor updater appeared in my game list, i remember hovering over it while i was still on xmb after updating but i don't know if that's what did it. i can't delete it because mM says the title is locked or something

      Yes, that can be done easily, or if you don't have any music stored on your HDD other than the multiMAN SOUND.BIN file, replace that with your favourite track and rename it as such.

      Hahahahahahaha thanks for making me feel like a grumpy nostalgic 84574RD - anyway, it's just a bunch of certain immature wanktards throwing a pussy tantrum as to why they only can store less cam whore videos than they would without the full-sized multiMAN release - I wouldn't worry about them.

      Oh and speaking of nostalgia, I decided to pull out the SOUND.BIN file from multiMAN 02.00.01 and shoved it into my multiMAN folder and decided to make RetroArch take a crap on the SingStar XMB icon.

      The only problem I have with a 130MB MM is that it's put up on sendspace, which is slow as shit to download from (for me at least), but there's always been a fast mirror available pretty soon after release so it's not any kind of deal breaker.

      Well, there's always Rapid8.com if you wanna download any hosted file from there at faster speeds.

      There is an option in "Settings" - > "Scan for homebrew applications (with RELOAD.SELF)". Probably condor's app has a "RELOAD.SELF" file, which allows you to start it directly from mM. If you wish you can disable the option in settings.

      Hey, Deank, is there any way to get MM to persevere through copy jobs of 10,000+ files? I'm trying to get PSAll-Stars on my external, and it auto-aborts after an hour or so. My personal thought is that its due to the remaining time calculation skyrocketing due to so many files. (All-Stars has just short of 24,000.) But it is your app, so do you have any insight on the matter? I'm also experiencing the auto-abort when ripping games with over 10,000 files to the USB drive. (Ratchet and Clank collection and PS Move Heroes.) Any help would be great, but as always, love the app and can't wait to see what comes!

      @deank - I noticed a bug. I was trying to get Brink working with the latest update. The game plays fine without it but kicks you back to the XMB with the update even if it's resigned. Anyway, I had 1 copy on internal drive and 1 copy on external drive. I wanted to delete one, so I loaded up the info screen for one of them to see where it was. It was the one on the external drive and I wanted to delete the one from internal. I hit R1 to go to the one on internal and hit delete from there. It ended up deleting the one from external. I guess it's because it's the one I first brought up the info menu
