multiMAN 02.08.00 is Available - With PSX Updates

Deank has once again released an update for multiMAN. This wonderful piece of homebrew is now sitting at version 02.08.00. Highlighted features are support for launching PSX games from CD-R discs in the XMMB Game column and also in other display modes. Assign memory cards better and options for video to be set to 480/576/720/1080 for PAL & NTSC.

02.08.00 -

Added: "Create ISO" option in SIDE menu when BD/DVD is selected in VIDEO column or PLAYSTATION/PLAYSTATION2 is selected in Game column
Added: "Create ISO" option in File Manager's context menu when /dev_bdvd is selected
Added: Creating ISO files bigger than 4GB to USB HDD will result in splitting in segments .iso.0, .iso.1 ... .iso.31
Added: Advanced option in XMMB Settings: "Expand Contents of XMMB media columns"
Added: SD/SDHC, CF and MS/MSPRO devices to Photo/Music/Video columns
Added: Standalone Web-Browser application with FTP (BROWSER.SELF) to avoid all memory issues
Added: Support for launching PSX games from CD-R discs (XMMB Game Column and other display modes)
Added: Launching directly ps1_emu.self or ps1_netemu.self from file manager will make multiMAN assign your Memory Cards properly, too
Added: Options to set preferred Video Mode for PAL and NTSC PSX titles (default/480/576/720/1080)
Added: peeklv1 and pokelv1 commands to control console
Added: String printout for peekl and peeklv1 control console commands
Added: Prompt to dump Hypervisor/LV1 after creating GameOS/LV1 memory dump
Changed: Improved the looks of the old debug font, used in some dialogs and file manager
Changed: multiMAN starts faster now
Fixed: Unnecessary auto-refresh/scan for content on each startup
Fixed: Browsing for ROMS in ZIP format

All features related to PSX discs require firmware 3.55 (kmeaw/rebug).

FULL and BASE include SHOWTIME, compiled today.

I have not tested any psx backups yet. Does multiMAN automatically choose between ps1_emu.self & ps1_netemu.self or does multiMAN prompt you to choose between the two methods of launching a game? (since some games use one or the other in order to launch) or WIP?

they're actually included in the FW you are using

I went through every sincle PSX backup I had to test, every single one of them worked perfect. This is awesome! One more system I can finally take off my shelf. Now if only we could get some Dreamcast and N64 support

EmulateMii is working on porting their Wii64 to the PS3 as we speak, but I would still like to see Dolphin

All these disc are burn at 4x using very cheap discs (Maxell / Memorex), I made sure they were proper dumps, bad dumps could have different results and not work at all, so verify your disc images before burning, I've been using Alcohol 120% to burn them, but ImgBurn should be ok as well.

There is no need to use Disc Swap or Breaker Pro now .

In my personal experience my PS3 is not presenting any weird sounds while reading the backup discs, if you experience this, then make sure you are burning your disc well, look for information online on how to burn PS1 disc correctly, there are many guides online. Make sure as well that the disc image you're using has been flagged as a good dump, making dumps from scratched discs will definitely cause trouble.
