  • mmCM 04.05.00 & RetroArch 0.9.7 RC2

    mmCM aka multiMAN is around again making a splash in the PS3 scene. Bringing mmCM to version 04.05.00. Deank has compiled an unofficial bulid of Retro Arch (0.9.7 RC-2) . This brings full Support for all the RetroArch's libretro cores in mmCM, aka multiMAN. .ZIP support has been added to mmOS, now you can extract ZIP files in mmOS. You can also now launch Retro ROMs in ZIP format from local or network location via mmCM. This build of Retro Arch also adds some fixes/additions by Sqaurepusher aka TwinAphex adding Save/Load support to Mednafen_PCE_Fast & Mednafen_Wswan libretro cores. Check below for all the changes to mmCM 04.05.00 & Retro Arch 0.9.7 RC2.

    mmCM aka multiMAN (04.05.00)

    • Added support for ZIP files (4GB ZIP filesize limit)

    • Added support for extracting ZIP files in mmOS (unzip supports subfolders, too); User can enter the target folder name to extract the zip in.
      --- Unzip in the same folder: ([O]->Unzip Here)
      --- Unzip in a different folder: ([O]->Copy -> (go to a different folder) -> [O]->Unzip Here)
      --- Double-click a .zip file - extracts archive to TEMP location and opens target folder
      ------ TIP: To extract into current folder enter single dot . for folder name;

    • Added support for installable ZIP packages when filename is in special format (double click on such special zip in mmOS):
      --- PS3~dev_hdd0~GAMES~BLES12345~dlc.zip will prompt the user to install the contents in /dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLES12345/dlc folder
      --- PS3~dev_blind~test.zip -> will make mM enable WRITE access to dev_flash and install the contents of the .zip in /dev_blind/test (/dev_flash/test) folder (use with caution)
      ------ TIP#1: Special ZIP naming convention: prefix is "PS3", "/" is replaced by "~"
      ------ TIP#2: This approach can be used to restore backups of /dev_hdd0/home or install patch-fixes or other data

    • Added support for RetroArch 0.9.7 new cores - launching retro ROMs from "Retro" column
    • Added support for launching retro ROMs in ZIP format from local or network locations (/dev_hdd0, /dev_usb***, /net_host*)
    • Added support for new emulator cores:
      --- Mednafen's PCE for PS3 (pce)
      --- Mednafen's WonderSwan Color for PS3 (wsw)
      --- PRBOOM for PS3 (prb) (plays Doom, Doom II, Final Doom and other Doom IWAD mods)
      --- Gambatte
    • Added new options in "options.ini" to define paths to new cores, roms and covers (pce, wsw, prb folders in ./ROMS and ./covers_retro)

    The the following improvements are for those using the Cobra-USB dongle:

    • Added support for PIC1.PNG background images for local (internal HDD and external USB HDD) PS3 games in ISO format
    • Added support for coverart for local PS3 games in ISO format
    • Added support for game icons (ICON0.PNG) to mmOS Desktop shortcuts for local PS3 games in ISO format
    • Fixed sort order of Game column when only PS3 games in ISO format are listed
    • Fixed issue with Retro column (when detaching USB HDD while scanning for ROMs)

    RetroArch 0.9.7 RC2 (unofficial Build By Deank)
    • Save / Load Support for Mednafen_PCE_Fast Core
    • Save / Load Support for Mednafen-Wswan Core
    • Return to multiMAN has been fixed.
    • Pressing "UP" in InGame menu goes to last option of the list for faster selection
    • ZIP support in mM allows loading any zipped rom from mM
    • Coverart Support for the new cores that are supported via mmCM
    • Support to load ROMs from network PC (zipped, too) via mmCM

    • Note: #1 For Neo-Geo ROMs to boot you must have the rewind feature turned off in Retro Arch settings. (Video Ram Error)
    • Note: #2 Imame4all is not included in this port. However if you have used it and enjoyed it, just download pete_uk's 0.9.7 RC-1 build and save that core and add it to this into the RetroArch core Folders.

      Hey deank, while this thread has your attention, I'd like to quickly mention a possible bug described here:

      http://psx-scene.com/forums/f187/gam...ltiman-105608/ (Game titles wrong in Multiman)

      Thanks for the great software!

      Thanks again Deank!
      Just a query. I have some 3D BRRip movies in mp4 format. When I play them in showtime i get 2 images side by side. Is there any conversion i could do to get them in 3davi format?

      You can reencode them to divx/xvid .avi3d. You don't have a 3d tv and want to watch them in anaglyph?

      Thanks for replying Deank!
      Yes i wanna watch it in Red+Cyan Anaglyph. I tried some conversion tools. Its only that most of the converters pixelate either in the left or the right image and for most part, the video is pretty messed up. Could you lemme know how to re-encode it to dix/xvid .avi3d.
      I also use a PMS. Is there any encoder i could use it with?

      What about setting ICON of Desktop-shortcuts for movies, folders etc.. any chance?
      Perhaps if we put every Video-File in a single Folder with ICON?

      Cheers
      Blade

      P.S.: Deank, If you got 2 min then plz include a standalone native xlink kai client, and with that an included Charles Proxy tool without the use of a pc
      Just joking, love your works, THX a lot dude

      Go Deank!
      After CFW 3.55, my favorite and most gratifying tool is MM.
      Nothing works so perfect as MM, if setup right, ofcourse.
      Never had any problems, from day one.
      Your drive is amazing. Almost as mine, lol. Kidding.

      Anyone know how to get FBA roms to show up in MM? Other roms aren't showing up either, like PCE. I'm editing the OPTIONS.INI file that came with the recent MM and placing it in the correct folder (/dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/USRDIR/options.ini)

      This is how the FBA option is set:
      fba_self=/dev_hdd0/game/FBAN00000/USRDIR/RELOAD.SELF
      fba_roms=/dev_usb001/fba/roms

      I got FBA roms to show up but they are just booting the SELF file and it shows the folder list. It's not running the game. When I try running the game from there, it gives an ERROR (and yes, REWIND is turned off). I found a game that does run, but when I try and run that game from MM, it just goes to the PS3 XMB. Not sure what's going on here..

      Also, when I do get this working.. is there any way to have the titles displayed correctly in MultiMan (Ex: Metal Slug instead of MSLUG)?

      You can't use USB paths in the ini for roms locations.

      /dev_hdd0/ROMS/fba is the correct value and mm will also search in /dev_usb***/ROMS/fba

      You didn't have to change anything in the ini anyway.

      PCE roms work just fine.... from /dev_hdd0/ROMS/pce or /dev_usb***/ROMS/pce

      I don't know what Firmware you have, what mM you use, what Retroarch version you have.

      I am running 3.55 kmeaw and installed the following from the FULL Package:
      mmCM ver 04.05.00 FULL (20120821).pkg
      RetroArch_[PS3-CEX]_[0.9.7-RC2]_[mM]_[20120821].pkg

      My USB have all my roms in different folders, cause I use them on other emulators, but I'll move them all to usb/ROMS/### and try that.

      I really want to keep my Sega roms (Genesis/SMS/GG) and Gameboy roms (GB Original, Color and GBA) separate from each other. Can they be in their own folders inside the GEN and VBA folders it checks?

      All my FBA roms are from FB Alpha v0.2.97.26 on my PC. Is there any reason some of the NeoGeo roms wont load in RetroArch?

      Is there any way to have the FBA rom titles displayed correctly in MultiMan (Ex: Metal Slug instead of MSLUG)?

      If you have your ROMs on USB. then just create a ROMS folder then each system's folders (dev_usb***/ROMS/SYSTEM NAME/). And all the folder names will appear when you select the the USB icon on top of the retro section, along with any covers.. ( in XMMB mode)

      If they are from the MAME romset 0.145 all should be okay, Now i don't know if you seen my notes on the main post, but you must make sure Rewind option in RetroArch settings is turned OFF or you get a "Video Ram Error" message on Neo Geo Games. that I am not sure if it affects only some or all neo geo games, (as i only tried a few and all were affected)

      As far as the names i believe that issue would lie more with RetroArch then multiMAN... (unless there was some sort of shadow name option multiMAN could create, changes the name of the title without changing the file-name)

      Hey Dean, quick question. When I try to load Dragon's Dogma, the screen where it says verifying data lasts for approximately 4+ minutes. What does mmCM check while it is doing that because all the other games load within 5 seconds. I'm on 3.55CFW kmeaw from back in the day. Thanks for the awesome manager btw!
