  • mmCM 04.04.00 released. Added GUI Features and Major Compatibility Improvements

Another update for just about everybody's' favorite backup manager. Major improvements to game compatibility which should be great for people without an external hard drive and should give everyone more flexibility about where their games can be played from. And that's not all. As always, more improvements and additions to the user interface. See the changelog below to see what this latest version has in store for you.

    Changelog:
    04.04.00 -

    - Fixed something that annoyed some users of 5x4x5, 4x2 and XBDM display modes:
After restart (or going to mmOS and back) game modes 5x4x5, 4x2 and XBDM
will display the last selected entry (game/video/music/photo) and will *not* reset to dash mode
    - Added option to "Default Display Mode" setting: [Disable];
If there is no display-mode-lock it will make mM start in the last used display mode
    - FTP session timeout set to 1 minute

    mmOS related:

    • Added context menu when desktop is selected (to Refresh, Create New Folder, Show Desktop, Reset mmOS, Restore Wallpaper)
    • Added "Permissions" to context menu when single folder is selected (to reset folder access permissions)
    • Double clicking on .p3t (PS3 theme) will copy/install the file/theme to PS3 XMB themes system folder (/dev_hdd0/theme); user can later install it from XMB
    • Added support for creating shortcuts to /net_host PC shares
    • Folders created on the desktop now open properly
    • Desktop shortcuts to /ps3_home/video, music and photo now have proper icons and open the virtual folder and not the /dev_hdd0/* one
    • Desktop shortucts to games/executables (EBOOT.BIN/.SELF) can be used to boot external apps or mount games

    Game Compatibility / CFW Related (KMEAW/REBUG/ROGERO 3.55CFWs):

    - Improved compatibility for the so-called "Black-Screen-Games" (BSG) which *until now* required
the "BD-Mirror" option and worked ONLY from external usb HDD (otherwise game would lock/loop/error during load).

    - Now users of the listed firmwares can use the "BD-Mirror" option for game backups stored in the INTERNAL HDD.
It may improve the compatibility of over 100 games (some older titles, some newer),
for example AC1 / Colin Dirt 1 / Prince Of Persia / CoD / MW / Tomb Raider, incl. titles which had sound issues.

    - A partial list of some games that may gain from the new option can be found here:
    http://pastie.org/pastes/4115732/text (by GotIt4Free / www.tortuga-cove.com)

    - It is now possible to set "BD-Mirror" option for games in Internal HDD and it enables the new functionality.
The option works both with PS3 Game Disc in the tray and in discless mode from /app_home.

    - The option is available in the "Game Settings" menu for each game in the list
Games currently confirmed working with the new internal BD-Redirection.

Searching the net gives one mixed messages. Thanks for your time.
It is an issue of the PS3 / external HDD... there is nothing I can do.

Here's a Demo I made up using VB6 menu what it would look like. Considering your own Theme, it would look a whole lot different. But, You can get the drift of it.

      ATTACHED IMAGE

Or do you plan on adding to the bottom left mmOS menu like so?

Note: The Exit was for my Demonstration to exit out of the menu app.

I thought so but had to ask. You are a very good programmer. The progress you have made with multiMAN is exceptional. I would just like to say thanks again for sticking around in the PS3 scene and here at psx. When I am able to, as life is a little rough right now, I will be making a donation and I encourage others to do so to. Fantastic work! You inspire me to become better to.

Deank has now fixed the Internal BD-mirror option for Rebug users. It also works fine with Rebug modified dev_flash files too, spoofed, update0.7, reactpsn self etc.
      Cheers Deank.

'Railfan Taiwan High Speed Rail' can be added to the working list at the top of thread.

Anyone interested in getting that update. Enter debug mode by holding L2 + R2 while starting multiMan. Then select update.

      SCREENSHOT

DeanK, Awesome work on the Game icons!

      Thanks!

If you have icons already on the desktop and want your Game icons to show up. Do the following.

Press O to Open Location over the icon at question.
If it's not there, Go back into the USRDIR and Re-Create the shortcut on the EBOOT.BIN to the desktop.
2 will now be on your desktop with the Right Game icon. Delete one. It will save the other.

      Thanks,

      Quake

First of all, THANKS deank for all your effort and constantly work, the old mm and the new mmCM are the best PS3 games manager!!

This new feature is great: "Now users of the listed firmwares can use the "BD-Mirror" option for game backups stored in the INTERNAL HDD."

      Thanks again deank!!

3.41 OFW booting from a dongle, testing "BD-mirror" option in internal HDD with "Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands"

      System information: 3.41 [SC-8 | Hermes]
      BD-ROM Emulator: None
Error message: The operation is not allowed

      System information: 3.41 [SC-36 | PSGroove]
      BD-ROM Emulator: None
Error message: The operation is not allowed

      System information: 3.41 [SC-35 | PL3]
      BD-ROM Emulator: None
Multiman freezes (firmware crash), only solved with a hard-reboot

Now reading the previous messages in the thread, and the compatibility problems with rebug i wonder if is a similar problem with libfs.sprx ?

Any chance to make "BD-mirror" for internal HDD work in 3.41 (maybe in one of the next releases) or is a road end ?

There are too many differences between 3.55 and 3.41 and I'd rather not risk breaking something on your side.

It happens when the game you backup/copy has big (split) files. The status bar is updated once the whole split file is transferred and it is misleading sometimes.

Awesome, thanks for the "old firmware" support

One suggestion... it seems multiman can identify the syscall availables... why dont to list all them in "system information" ?... something like: [SC-6,7,8,36 | Hermes]

And something similar with "BD-ROM Emulator" (is very related with the info displayed in "system information"), maybe is a good idea to use the same identifyers (with the syscalls in both)... or move both icons at the top of settings column togheter... or include one inside other (an option to change the "BD-ROM Emulator" inside "system information")
Is just some ideas to simplify it a bit trying to "standarize" names (but i understand is difficult)
