  • LibPS3GUI Library for PS3 Released - Connect 4 Demo Included

It has been quite some time since a new programming library has been released for underground PS3 coders to use. Well today those developers can rejoice over the release of LibPS3GUI, a port of LibWiiGUI. The library works with PSL1GHT and was created to help structure the design of complicated GUI interfaces. Also included is a sample of the library in action via a homebrew demo of the classic game Connect 4. Please note this library release is only for homebrew PS3 developers/coders, not the casual user.

This is a little demo for libps3gui by me. It is basically a port of libwiigui by tantric to work with psl1ght. To compile it, you need psl1ght, tiny3d, libfreetype, libvorbis, libmpg123, libaudioplayer, and libogg ( this is made to work with the current versions as of 3/19/2011, but hopefully wont be broken by future versions ). The connect4 engine was written by Keith Pomakis.

It is intended to be used with the cursor (press L3 and use the left analog stick to move around), but it should be mostly functional just using the d-pad.

As with libwiigui, it is licensed under GPLv2.

Does this mean that Multiman will be updated somewhere around 10 times a day now? What with all of the GUI improvements and all. Just kidding, but this looks very hand for all of the Devs out there. Keep them libraries coming!!!

Good, now there's no excuse to keep using the leaked SDK.
