L.A. Noire Playable on CFW 3.55

Sony has made a fatal mistake once again, this time while releasing a new game update/patch for L.A. Noire. The new patch was signed with v3.55 keys which allows back up copies of the game to be played on custom firmware and hacked consoles. L.A. Noire is a video game developed by Team Bondi in conjunction with Rockstar Games and published by Rockstar Games. L.A. Noire is set in "a perfectly re-created Los Angeles" of 1947, with players being given an open-ended challenge to solve a series of murder mysteries.

YESSSSS!!!!!! this is great news, but I would not call this a failure on $ony's part. Failure would mean something bad, this in no way is bad....That you $ony for maintaining the level of technological security & scrutiny we have become accustom to as of late.

wait if sony can make a 3.60 coded game to work on 3.55 then why cant hackers do the same for lets say portal 2? cant we use the same code or whatever to make all 3.60 games work on 3.55?

i might just have to keep this on my ofw 3.61 because it doesnt seem like it will be possible to play any of the post game DLC on CFW. once the DLC gets a green light on CFW then i might just back it up and run it on 3.55

You'd need to decrypt the 3.60 game file and re-encrypt it with 3.55 keys. We can't decrypt 3.60 game files.

hi ppl heres is the thing i have a ps3 working with kmeaw 3.55 and i bought the game and downloaded the patch it says to replace the param.sfo with the custom one and then to patch the game i think i replaced the param.sfo right but how do i patch the game??? do i need usb, externall hdd or what pls tell me n ill appreciate if u explain it well

to patch the game with the param.SFO you need an ftp server. and a brige connected ps3 connected to your computer! then you need to navigate in your ps3 to the game directory inside dev_hdd0. and replace the files there

BTW:
i know it's not as popular as LA Noire, but MX vs ATV: Alive is playable on 3.55 cfw too.

No ftp needed, if its the us version you have just replace the sfo with the euro sfo, copy it to the ps3 hdd fron external, run the patch from "install package file" and hit select +X on multiman.

P.S. Buy the game, we need games like this.

PSGroove should still post this kind of stuff. Say for instance you bought the game legitimately, and only have 1 jailbroken console on cfw 3.55? This is a perfect work-around for that situation until cfw 3.6 is out.

wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, some of us hard working people actually still support hardworking game devs by buying their products so they can continue to make better ones in the future, i for one refuse to go back to ofw after having my details stolen and having over £1000 worth of fraudulent transactions on my account, but i still want to play l.a noire, fixes like this are what we need

I understand your situation about being on 3.55 and wanting to support Rockstar. If you download the game, and enjoy it, ask for the game on your birthday or something. The game devs are already suffering because of Sony's **** ups. The game devs really did nothing wrong. If this game is as good as you say it is, buy it.

So paying for games and not using cfw and I'm a pu$$y? Get off your f(_)cking high horse you cheap @ss! This forum is for the greater things that you can achieve out of your hardware not ripping software that devs put hundreds of hours into.

Go and buy the game so that devs that produce more awesome titles like this.

Im having an odd issue. I installed the blus version and replaced the .sfo file and installed the .pkg file then started the game with select+x and everything went well, but I was surprised to find out my automobile could not move......it was as though the controller just was not working. I tried again and this time only started from multiman with the x and everything went well with the car moving this time until I got to the first crime scene and picked up the newspaper and the screen seemed to freeze again.........the music continued to play, but I was stuck there.

What can I do to fix this?
