Iris Manager 2.16 - New Payload - Test Version

Iris Manager receives another update bringing it v2.16. Iris in an open source backup manager created with PSL1GHT v2 by PS3 developers Estwald (Hermes) and D_Skywalk. This new version is an Evaluation/Test Version with a new payload. Added was the multiMAN method for improved disc-less support, thanks to deank for sharing the info on his new payload/disc-less methods. What is Iris Manager?

IrisManager is a port of HermesManager based on PSLIGHT, Tiny3D, PS3Soundlib and OpenPS3FTP, is a completly legal open code manager Made with Homebrew tools.

Supports the custom firmwares: 3.41 (Hermes), 3.55 (Kmeaw), 4.21 & 4.30 CEX (with LV1 access, like Rogero or Rebug), 4.31 CFW and 4.21 DEX.

that's...cool.

so, if it works, what would be the difference between the two big managers other than the name behind it? i mean, multiman is obviously a lil bigger and stuff, but barebones i mean

Sounds like they are sharing code which is awesome there has been so much devision in the scene it great to see these guys are working together

They are they & we are we, choices, choices. Actually multiMAN is not a back-up manager it's a multimedia manager so to compare the two is just wrong

Running Rogero CEX-4.30 v2.05 if this lets me run my rock band games from the hard drive again like I was able to while on cfw 3.55 I will be very happy.

2.16 of Iris does not run on Kmeaw 3.55. All I get is a black screen when I load the manager. Reverted back to 2.15 and that one works.

I don't think they are working directly with each other (could be). but this is what happens when info/code is made publicly available which @deank did with his payload info, here (Article: multiMAN v04.20.00 BASE - New Payload Officially Released).

Just one of many examples where sharing helps the scene as a whole. and it was a good thing for deank to share that info with the scene as well as developing a much simpler payload that works much better.

iris manager supports 3.41, that would be the big difference.

May not be 100% right here but from my understanding:

There are some differences. Yea Iris supports 3.41 by having syscall 36 only for 3.41.
but there are a few other changes that Estwald made as well, if i am not mistaken.

From my understanding he liked the idea that deank did, then implemented a bit differently..
