A interview with PSNope creator user
Scene Developer user
creator of the very useful PlayStation 3 homebrew App of PSNope
has taken the time to chat with PSX-Scene about his recent win in the PSX-Scene Contest
, his application and a bit about himself Get to know user
a little better, is he a fan of PB & J? Well, oddly enough that answer is below, check it out with all the questions the PSX-Scene Staff has asked the developer below.
Q.) The name 'User' is very generic. Is there a funny story behind why you chose that username?
The story behind it is a rather sad one. I chose this generic name back in the time when sony was suing graf chockolo and f0f. The idea was to be hard to find on google etc.
Q.) What inspired you to create PSNope?
Well, i didn't want to use reactpsn, because its closed source and i don't trust in it. Also, I dislike the rap format and wanted to have something that works with klicensees, too. In fact rap files are just klicensees with a custom layer of encryption. The only purpose of the rap format is to stop other applications from using their files which reminds me of some DRM dongle
Thats why i wrote PSNope.
Q.) How long did it take you to create PSNope. What kind of work was involved in creating it?
It didn't take very long, because i had many code snippets that just had to be ported to ps3. I spent most of the time testing and fixing small bugs.
Q.) How long have you been gaming? What was your first gaming memory?
I've been gaming for about 20yrs now. The first time i got in contact with videogames was in the late 80s when my neighbor got his brother's NES with a bunch of games.
Q.) What is your favorite game of all time and why?
My favorite game series is Fallout and in specific Fallout 2. It has a great story, lots pf side quests and I love it's type of humor.
Q.) Do you have any other mods/homebrew you are working on right now?
No, not at the moment. But i still have some tools that i might port to ps3.
Q.) Do you have anyone you work with on projects like PSNope?
In the majority of cases I worked together with Belmondo (Cheers bro ), but he lost interest in the ps3 lately.
Q.) What was your first project you worked on in regards to game consoles?
My first project was hvdebug on ps3.
Q.) Do you like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? :P
Q.) Do you plan on participating in more PSX-Scene contests in the future?
I will, if i have something that's worth submitting.
