  • I Bet You Missed PS3 Tools Collection 2.0.68 & More...

With all the hype around the recent announcement of the PlayStation 4, I too have missed a bit of news here and there. Now getting back to what matters, here is an update to PS3 Tools Collection by developer Aldostools. Version 2.0.68 was released four days ago but looking at his website I noted a few updates as recent as today. One of which is the newly released application called PS3 Ftp Data Sync, used with DropBox and you have cloud based backups of your PS3.

    About PS3 Tools Collection 2.0.68:
PS3 Ftp Data Sync new 2013-02-22!
It's a backup utility that copies the selected folders on the PS3 to a local folder on the PC. Only the new and modified files on the PS3 are downloaded to the PC. The new files found on the PC are copied to the PS3.

Set the local folder to a DropDrox's folder and you have a cloud backup of your PS3 data.

    Other application updates:

Bruteforce Save Data 3.2.5 updated 2013-02-22!

    PS3 Cheats Editor 2.7.5 updated 2013-02-22!

    PS3 Games Database 1.1.1 updated 2013-02-22!

    PKG ContentID 2.0.7 updated 2013-02-18!
    Aldostools, you rock!!

@RazorX the "virus alert" is a false positive related to PKG ContentID, which causes a trigger in the heuristic algorithm of many antivirus. This is probably due the fact that this tool associates several file extensions (over 20) to manage them, and the antivirus look it as a suspicious malware.

By the way, I uploaded the 2.0.71 with the recent updates listed by Tranced.

This is the direct link (or download it from my website)
      http://www.sendspace.com/file/hir6dh

The most important changes in this update are related to Bruteforce Save Data, which now supports Game Genie cheats, direct FTP download/upload of saves from/to PS3 and a new patch that unlock your save to work on ANY ps3 account.

The PS3 Cheats Editor now allows to create a PKG for the patched EBOOTs and the PS3 Games Database has many improvements too.

The PS3 FTP Data Sync is cool to keep your saves/trophies/rifs/edats in a save place or to share your files with friends using a DropBox account

I saw that you commented that the Cheats Editor could be used to resign eboots for 4.30 - does that mean that we can use the cheats in the latest st . dat and add them to our eboots, or does the list still rely on 3.55?

      @alm1ghty eboot patch is a general cheat solution of any firmware (3.40, 3.55, 4.21, 4.30, 4.31).

However, not all cheats are compatible with the eboot patching method.
The cheat editor shows the cheats that are compatible in blue, and the ones that are only compatible with CU (3.55) in red.

Downloads fine from sendspace. People get a new internet provider. Dammmm

      The new sendspace URL is:
      http://www.sendspace.com/file/hir6dh

I deleted some old versions from sendpace... and that's the possible cause why some persons can't download it.

I too get the Virus has been detected but I get it on MSCOMCTL.OCX.

My AV Software says that it is a fake file.

@ccfman2004 , thanks for the notification. The new ps3tools collection 2.0.71 now includes a MSCOMCTL.OCX downloaded directly from Microsoft. I just compressed it with UPX.

The funny thing is that Avast doesn't always say that it's a Virus when I install a new version. Only sometimes. Once an a while Avast will tell me your installer contains a virus and will move it to the chest.

Xorloser's Xextool would constantly trigger Avast. Then after a definition update one time, it never did it again.

I tried the 71 installer and Avast doesn't like MSWINSCK.OCX. It says it's an MS.Fake Adware.

I have updated the link for the ps3tools collection 2.0.71.
It now has MSWINSCK.OCX from VB6sp6 downloaded from Microsoft, so there should not be issues with that file.

@aldostools , there is something buggy about PARAM.SFO Editor v2.81.

I think there are two bugs:

      1st bug:
When I make changes in the PARAM.SFO file and I then press the SAVE button. When I try to close the app, it asks me to save again before it closes. And when I don't press the SAVE button and I try to close it, it doesn't even give me the option to SAVE--even though I made some changes. All I am doing is editing the PS3 System FW using the drop-down arrow (example from 4.31 to 3.40).

      2nd bug:
I also noticed that when I change the System FW of the PARAM.SFO file (attached below) from 4.31 to 3.40 (using the drop down arrow). When I SAVE the changes. It will replace 's to ? in the TITLE. (For example from Ken's to Ken?). I've attached the PARAM.SFO file below for you to test.

Hopefully you can figure this out. I know that multiMAN can make the PS3 System FW changes automatically, but I still think this is a bug in your app.

      Attachment 41585

      Update:
@aldostools , it also changes the following symbols to ?: TM, (R), and etc.

@aldostools , thanks. This new version fixes the two bugs. I think both bugs were just one bug. Where if the PARAM.SFO's TITLE had those symbols, it would cause the malfunction, plus having to double-save changes.

no, they were indeed 3 bugs:
      - there was a missing PARAM.modified = true in the Click events of the combo boxes
      - there was a missing PARAM.modified = false in the save function
      - the '?' issue was related to the utf8 re-encoding on the save function
