PlayStation 3 developer Rogero has updated his version of custom firmware, aptly known as Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.7. Another method for those wanting a 'plug and play' solution to their PSN and custom firmware needs.

About :

v3.7 Changes:

Updated the Passphrase to allow PSN/SEN access without the need to use any other tool, just install the CFW and connect to PSN/SEN. Credits to eussNL and the PS3DevWiki for the valuable and always up-to-date source of information.
Added a fix in the CFW for the old Black Screen Titles that needed: USB Mount (Rogero Manager) / Select+X (Multiman) to run from external HDD. Now the same titles can run from internal HDD fine too with this CFW. Credits to Deank for his continuous efforts on Multiman and many other PS3 tools/fixes.

Usage / Compatibility:

Can be used for Downgrade directly using a hardware flasher like Progskeet / E3 Flasher / Teensy++, etc...
Can be used for normal system update like any other CFW/MFW from XMB or from Recovery Menu.

Ok im ready to install this update but... i have a huge problem and need some clarification.. im no noob when it comes to ps3 modding etc but when updating to this cfw i have to go through recovery for the obvious reason but when it detects the firmware and finishes preparing it (the point where it asks you to press the ps button to install) it says the system software version is 3.66 i have attached an image to show, just need to know if this is normal for this cfw to display that sys version?

are you using any Spoofer if yes then disable and remove it .

Yes i am using a spoofer but its built into the firmware See here (couldnt add link but its the iskamel cfw from a couple threads down) sorry cant add link for some reason

Ok this is really messed up now, i decided to just go ahead and install the cfw and to my surprise NOOB ERROR FOLKS REMEMBER TO TAKE OUT YOUR DISK WHEN UPDATING FIRMWARE So now i can no longer use any homebrew at all!!!....

Update:
Ok i've done a little digging and found that while in recovery mode even without a usb media device in the machine it still detects the 3.66 firmware so this can only be a result of the disk i left in the drive when updating

well that's not good at all. i guess when in doubt, don't do it and use a checker. it's not good to be impatient, i learned that the hard way like you but with a brick from wanikoko's fw

yeah i second that, hopefully this is just a corrupt update and i can sort it out but if not looks like im gunna have to get a flasher and make a downgrade

i have read far to much stuff that give problems with this CFW... So i am passing for now. Although i really would like to sync mi trophies and so....

Guys I do not make me go to psn. He tells me that the time to access the psn is up, you have any idea to solve the problem?

i think this might be easier cause you just pop this on the hard drive and install...no need to run anything or worry about the wrong pkg

just make sure you take the disc out of the drive (or keep a 3.40 or less FW game, that way you only accidentally downgrade)

So many people don't realize if they have qa-flagged their PS3, that you should never have a disc in the drive when updating the firmware.
The PS3 will use the update from the disc, not the USB.

Its just best practice anyway to never have a disc in drive when updating.
