Graf_Chokolo Tells Sony to Back Off or Else...

Graf_chokolo, famous for a multitude of decryption payloads, has warned Sony to back off. Earlier today, several sites were issued Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) notices, ordering them to stop hosting several famous PS3 dev's projects. Sites such as GitHub complied with the order, and removed projects being worked on by coders Kakarotoks, Graf_Chokolo, and Kmeaw.

In response to these actions, earlier today on XorLoser's blog, Graf_Chokolo gave Sony an ultimatum. He stated that if Sony was to continue such tactics, that he will publish his IDA database, for the PS3's Hypervisor and Hypervisor processes. What this means, is that reverse engineering the hypervisor would immediately become much easier for other developers using IDA Pro Disassembler. IDA Pro is a popular tool, commonly used in reverse engineering software.

Graf_Chokolo is trying to fight back. he wants sony to stop sueing people. This may be the one thing that Sony does not want to go public besides their master keys. they may stop after this approach from graf_chokolo

If you don't think this is not blackmailing then I don't know what to say. Even though the guy didn't demand something like money but he demands Sony to "discontinue" or else....

Appreciate his effort but it could be counterproductive, he better finds a new approach because this is as good as blackmailing.

yes it is blackmailing but in the post it says he doesnt care that sony sent that letter to github to get rid of grac_chokolos repo. i wont think he cares if he gets sued either

Sony doesn't know where Graf_Chokolo is from, they know the country possibly, not the area, and they don't have jurisdiction, besides, he knows the risks after what happened with geohot, i respect him for that, lol takes balls

Possible consequences or positive outcomes...

1.. End of Sony (or Sony Playstation)
(hope this isn't gonna happen)

2.. Sony employs all the hackers with a salary double that to the highest paid person in the company, in a sort of blackmailing the hackers to not release any more hacks.

3.. Sony let's this all happen, lose lots of money but starts the development of the PS4.

4.. Sony releases Egohot and drops the ransom, then secretly implements high tech security in a future patch. (background downloading?)

5.. VWI will start. (Virtual War 1) and Microsoft will join in for the fun. Nintendo will suddenly release a well hidden console with quantum chips while the 2 major companies think they are having a war with the hackers.

Any more possible outcomes?

Personally I would like Sony to keep making these fantastic systems.. But I do like the hackers point of view too.

Well if sony didn't make the PS3 then no one would have been able to hack it, so who is the bad guy here eh? Sound like sony to me, maybe you should have made a more secure system and hire people who are a little smarter, just because someone doesn't have 10 years of schooling and 20 years experience in something doesn't mean they aren't worth having around.

From what I understand you had the option to hire Hotz before any of this stuff happen, maybe if you weren't such douchebags you wouldn't have this problem now, oh wait you would have because someone else would have done it.

If microsoft, apple, sony were smart they would have people like hotz on the payroll doing security checks on there shit and helping them, look at mitnik he went from the biggest hacker in the world on the FBI most wanted to running a company where people pay him to hack there shit, sounds like a smart idea to me.
