Last time I checked a EULA wasn't law - Geohot settling didn't set a precedent so no one knows what one can get away with. And they are abusing the DMCA rules in my opinion. It is utterly ridiculous how far they will go. One little slip and they have absolute control over everything you own and you can't do anything about it. Talk about terrible PR.

Personally they're going after him for modifying coding that allows for something they removed intentionally. Anyone can say that he's making piracy possible (which someone will)...but he's not the ones writing the code to dump whole games into a harddrive.

Sony's going to ride him till he's either in prison or he stops and right now, they just want him to stop. Where is this group that is suppose to be "fighting" these things that money has been donated to? People should be looking at them and asking "Why aren't you stepping in?"

Are you new to the scene? I was enjoying my PS3 emulators long before geohot appeared. PS3 jailbreak didn't begin with geohot, we had jailbreak usb sticks before CFW.

When was ps3 advertised as having Linux? The OtherOS hardly got any marketing. I don't think you cared for Linux while we had it, if you cared you wouldve stayed on the lower firmware. And seriously, I had my ps3 for 3 years without knowing what OtherOS was and even after I figured it out, I didnt install Linux.

You should thank Geohot for the OtherOS removal, its after he mentioned a bug in OtherOS that Sony took it away.

Look, a person should not have to stay on a lower firmware to support OtherOS on a machine prior to the Slim launch and be forced to lose PSN, because that was a selling point advertised & it was a scale tipper in my opinion.

Now you don't seem to see the biggest picture here, and yes piracy & other "law breaking" things seem to trend on person freedom & property ownership, but if I have a car, am I not entitled to change the factory plugs to something more racy/efficient, or modify my exhaust for a meaner sound, or even change any part on the vehicle to a non OEM one because OnStar knows and they will shut me down?

What about if I bought a coffee maker w/wireless auto brew through some app the manufacture made, but 9 months later the manufacture wouldn't let me chose what brand of coffee I could put in it, or they would disable my coffee pot.

Little and Big scenario's are all over this subject. If you want mommy & daddy to always have your best interests at hand no matter what (SkyNet!) Keep singing that Turkish little tune you sing, otherwise accept ownership for your property because nobody bought a time-share here, but a piece of computer/gaming hardware that supported other operating systems and a free online network!

I believe Sony will never win this battle, even if they shut down all the Private Dev's, with the amount of money already dumped on this against the real 10% pirate market, theirs no way Graffs computers & equipment are going to fit that bill.

-- How the **** do you know what has and hasn't been done with these materials. Any smart dev would have grabbed up everything in these gits, do you even know what half of his codes enable? It lets you actually use the PS3 as SONY should have years ago! Full HV Access, HDD Decryption, Vflash resizing, Graf is single- handedly (granted, credit is given where credit is due) bringing down these money hungry *******s. And they are losing their minds!!

I really hate this trolling thing and I know some of you guys just do it to f*** with people but for everyone's sake:

If you don't like complete freedom over your purchases: LEAVE
If you don't like homebrew: LEAVE
If you don't like emulators: LEAVE
If you don't like reading or hearing about the people in these articles and what they are actively doing to make OUR lives better: LEAVE
If you don't like being able to back up a $60 to $100 game YOU paid for: LEAVE

All the stuff going on in these legal battles are essential freedoms that are necessary for the people that are going to continue buying multimedia products and so forth that come from SONY and any other manufacturer. If anyone can just change the end-user product however they please to suit themselves.. There is a lot more going on here than a lot of you care to think about or realize how this can affect you.
