Gitbrew Signs a 3.60+ Package?

Great news comes from one of the former administrators of PSX-SCENE, GaryOPA. He tells us today that he has been in touch with Team Gitbrew, and that they have been able to put together a heavily modified PSL1GHT setup, to do the impossible, sign a package for a system running OFW v3.60+!

To quote GaryOPA some more, "We are talking about NPDRM and the v3.60+ problem. -- Previously only those with an official Sony PS3 SDK could do anything, and still in a limited fashion."

Gitbrew has also released a preview, "of something that will make everyone more than happy in PS3 'Scene'!"

Gitbrew also adds that they are diligently working on bringing their tools to everyone, including those with the new "hack-proof" models. Also, that they are another step closer to having working PUPs for consoles v3.60, and more. Also, being that they are using an open-source project, like PSL1GHT; everyone will be able to enjoy their work!

looks like almost all the games that don't run on 3.55 run on 3.60. (I think either that or 3.66)

Yes, there will most likely be an exploit soon enough for those firmwares, but it's extremely unlikely that it will be a PUP.

Whatever you say and believe, I respect it. Im not gonna keep telling you what I know and believe, you are free to underestimate all you want.

It is not like everything "is" and "must" be published on IRC.

plus you have to understand how hard it is to sign a pup
- you have to have a pen that can write on furr
- they move around a lot
- you need to sign big for it to be readable
- insure that the pups mother is no where near
- and get owners permission (no point sneaking in and signing it unless you have unreadable handwriting)
ok on a more serous note, if this is true its very good news but im guessing were still months away from being able to play our games with out the need for a second ps3

Okay im impressed and UNIMPRESSED I like the fact after 6months they are tackling the 3.60ofw+ but MOSTLY im unimpressed since they KNOW Sony will be after them and pursue to sue them. Lets not forget Geohot did the same thing with 3.50 firmware and he got landed a nice TRO and sued why fight the system? Instead of wait... its not the right time + 3.70 is right there so how are they gunna make a pkg for that? Without Sony... or I should say (Lord Sony) Be on their back?

Thats why they always kept them selfs anonymous and they have a ultra secure private server...which people need to donate for to keep alive btw. But these guys know what they are doing and have learned from the mistakes of other fame seeking devs from the past. I don't think sony can touch these guys, at least not somewhere they can point to on a puppet.

LOL you really think that Sony wouldn't go through high lengths to get these guys??? I bet you... once they release something Sony WILL get them... last time I check Graf never showed his/her face and Sony raided hs/her home... never say never + you REALLY want another cat and mouse game?

read their interview ...they are basicly waiting for Sony to make a move, and they were suprised Sony didnt already. And fyi graf did give away his real name at some point, and they raided his house probably because they tracked his ip to his isp and forst his isp to give up al info about him.

I did read thier interview but you are missing the whole point? Its like saying hey look im going to rob the bank coppers TRY AND STOP ME uhh yeah see how far they get... or thier stunt make the scene even in more pain. FURTHERMORE why SAY ANYTHING!!! Sony will be working on the next 3.71 update now

Can't you install packages on any firmware using the old ps3proxy method? Or get another PS3 with CFW and data transfer or be on CFW and upgrade.

why? Well...i think they want to show Sony who's boss, and maybe some members are motivated by revenge on what Sony did to the other devs and want to show Sony that their scare tactics and raid assaults won't work on them. Basicly just like you said...why get attention of the gaint? Because they feel they have nothing to fear from it....thats why.

Okay so if you was Gitbrew would you want all of the attention out on you like that? I dont care how good you can hide trust me. If I were them I would keep as quiet as possible but they also want attention like Geohot and the others they are NO different... telling the people look at me hack your system is NOT a good idea..

By 3.60+ do they mean that they will also sign Pkgs for 3.66? Cause that's the firmware I am currently on and didn't want to update to 3.70. Someone Please answer me. Thanks!

just dont get hopes uplets face it theres been so many "were close" that its becoming the boy that cried wolf
- 3.60 cfw is not needed we can sign any game the same as we did with 3.55 games to make them work on 3.41 ..that was a nice dream
- The failoverflow method can not be defeated by sony...that was wrong
- The QA flag will fix all problems .......it did not
- I have a method of getting the 3.60 keys and ill get them and give them to the community when i return from my vacation......yeah sure lol
- and now this
(and im skipping a fair few of the false hopes and ofcourse the fake firmwares)I shant say it will never happen but i think it will some day, probably not for decadesi know there are some that will be tempted to flame me, i ask you to reframe, this is my opinion and i would love to be proven wrong i also add that we dont need 3.60cfw for piracy, we need it to play our legitimently owned, brought, paid for, games!
