Yesterday, the developers of Gitbrew announced they would release RSX Documentation
for the PlayStation 3 if they received enough donations within 24 hours. Well, the people came through and achieved this goal, and thanks to them, we can all enjoy the benefits of having RSX documentation at our finger tips.
The heart of the Playstation 3 is made up of two processors: the CPU (Cell Broadband Engine
), and the GPU (RSX Reality Synthesizer
). With this documentation, homebrew is no longer restricted to the CELL Broadband Engine
and it's various SPUs. Now authors and developers on the scene can use this information to bring about new and updated works, such as emulators and homebrew games.
