Gitbrew releases PS3 RSX Documentation

Yesterday, the developers of Gitbrew announced they would release RSX Documentation for the PlayStation 3 if they received enough donations within 24 hours. Well, the people came through and achieved this goal, and thanks to them, we can all enjoy the benefits of having RSX documentation at our finger tips.

The heart of the Playstation 3 is made up of two processors: the CPU (Cell Broadband Engine), and the GPU (RSX Reality Synthesizer). With this documentation, homebrew is no longer restricted to the CELL Broadband Engine and it's various SPUs. Now authors and developers on the scene can use this information to bring about new and updated works, such as emulators and homebrew games.

In fact, that doesn't even require him to know any english at all, as registering for websites is basically the same process for all websites, regardless of language. There was really no need to continue attacking him after it was explained he doesn't understand english well.

no problem i know that, im just impacient waiting for new cfw and i think this was a step on, btw i dont understand 100% english so i cant understand the full idea of the announcement.

Unfortunately there is unlikely to ever be a 3.6+ cfw, and certainly not any time soon. He responded so negatively because for months now people have been coming around and asking in every single thread about 3.6+ cfw, and after a while, it really does get old.

Im resisting selling mi ps3 cause i see this weeks lot of progress on scene and having hope for a new CFW but i will not pass this month... btw i but it for 210€ played and ended God of war 3 and i dont play nothing more atm i have a current offer of 255€ for mi ps3... and thinking about that i have too Xbox360 and PC ( with incoming diablo 3 ) so i will have entertainment for a time :P

I read a lot about this and I still don't really know what it is for. I think it is a driver that allows Linux to use the ps3 graphic ability. I pay hardcore attention to the ps3 news, so I could see someone who is just browsing may be confused about the excitement around this driver.

If I was a doctor, I wouldn't even tell you the chances are slim to none... I would just say no.

This could however, bring a whole new life to the scene. We were only able to use half of the "heart" of the PS3 before. But now with this and further exploration, we could see a whole new breed of programs and developers wishing to experiment on this scene

So in that sense, it could (not really).
New Developments = New Developers = New Possibilities = New Hacks/Mods = Etc
