    Today Dashacks released their own social coding website similar to Github and Gitorious. Their website, called Git-Hacks.com allows developers to host their code free. Since the website is canadian the DMCA rules don't apply to them. Some well known developers like Drizzt and Kakarotoks have already put up their code. Hopefully Git-hacks doesn't get intimidated by sony and take down ps3 repositories.

      Canada rocks eh!

      We may not have the DMCA, but we DO have the [insert expletive]'s running the CRTC. I honestly don't know what's worse.

      Here's hoping that this open-source repository remains...

      This is good. Maybe a new cfw will come quicker somehow from this.

      i dont understand this ppl. why the **** you dont host in russia server website????? the russians dont care about any **** dmca or anything like this ****, my lands ppl are the best you host iin canadia haha? what the **** its USA!!!!!! and you get ****** up again u will see, just host on a russian server!!!!!!!

      Why don't you host it then, after all, you're the best. Canada is USA? Like Russia is Kazakhstan.

      heh. Russia is pretty cool but Canada ftw in this one Since the user above you said that Russia is the 1337 then he should totally make a host. Its not like its not gonna be used. The more the merrier.

      If you start a hacking git hosting site by cloning the friggin' gitorious infra git, the LEAST thing you could do is run a

      sed -e 's/Gitorious/git-what-not/'
      on the source. This is not an encouraging start.

      Damn script kiddies don't even know how to script anymore.

      Gitorious is in AGPL license, we need to maintain the copyright part!

      And that's where the scripting part comes in.

      Front page, about, FAQ - all speak of gitorious, not git-hacks.com. Gitorious is besides the infra, also a registered trademark... ( at least according to http://git-hacks.com/about ).

      Keep in mind while Canada doesn't have DMCA (I am Canadian), we do quite often fold to pressure from the US or corporations.
