Your submission of the PS3Ultimate TV App got a tremendous response in this month's contest. How long have you been working on this project? Do you have an idea of how many hours of work you put into this?
I have been working on this for a few months now and I have put 200+ hours into this app. Although people may look at the size of this and wonder if it's worth getting something so small it's worth knowing that so far this app is connected to about 20GB of data or more and it's increasing each day so don't be fooled by its size.
Was this project something that you did because it was something you wanted to utilize your PS3 for or was it a project you decided to work on because members of the scene were requesting this?
It was originally going to be for personal use since at the time I had nothing on my ps3 and I spend most of my time catching up on shows I've missed and watching my film collection. While I knew even since 3.41 people have been trying to get the standard channels on there ps3's or custom ones if they already had the standard ones. I wasn't sure how far I could take this but I really wanted to create something that would go above and beyond the original TV section on the ps3 and if possible keeping it small and simple so I wouldn't have to worry about compatibility issues. At the same time keeping the app focused on media. I could of started adding all sorts of random things to this app but it would have strayed from what I created the app for in the first place. Although this has alot of features now I've tried to keep it focused on what it was created for, although I must admit it's been more difficult than I originally thought since the ps3 is so limited in what you can view. It has been hard trying to work around this as alot of people have sent me links and requests they would have liked to see on this app. But during testing they either didn't work or they crashed the ps3 which is never a good thing so that is why I started branching out and looking into other media I can add while doing this. I've also discovered a few things along the way such as my "PS3Ultimate TV Video & Music Bypass" file i released. Even though this isn't a major breakthrough and it's quite a simple modification it does add a function to the ps3 you couldn't do before while still keeping within what I set out for the app.
What types of future updates should we be on the lookout for?
At the moment I'm focusing all my time on the content which is a slow process of uploading 1 file at a time. Since I am trying to keep all the content on the app hosted by me so its more easily manageable and since I'm working alone on this project it's takes time, but I believe the result will be worth it. So for now I don't think i will be adding anymore features for the time being but I'm always on the lookout for more features to add so only time will tell. For now you will mainly see the content being updated and new content being added. Very soon you will have access to 30+GB of content and thats just the start. I will be working on this app everyday if i can so keep checking for updates they will be coming to you as soon as possible

Do you have any other projects in the works or is your main focus PS3Ultimate?
I do have a few ideas I'm working on but because of the response i have had with this app I feel people have been waiting for something like this for a long time. So I will focus most of my time on this because I think this app could really lead to something good that everyone can use. My only regret is that I don't have a flasher for my ps3. If I didn't have to worry about damaging my ps3 I would experiment much more with this and try to raise it another level but only time will tell.
Did you have fun participating in the monthly contest? Did you follow along with the votes and comments that were being made about your project? Was it cool to see the response from the scene?
Despite the long hours I have spent working on this it's been really great participating in the contest and it pushed me to work even harder. I think one night I spent 15-16 hours working one this which was a little crazy
but worth it I've also been following the comments I have received on this app and tried to respond to everyone. It's really amazing to see people say they like your work it really motivates you to push yourself harder than you normally would. I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted. I never thought my app would have had this response so thank you all and there's not a day goes by I don't visit this site so thank you psx-scene for everything. If you haven't had a chance to check out RazorX's winning entry make sure you stop by and check it out.
